XFX HD-587A-ZNF9 Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity

Pros: It's hard to overstate how fast this card truly is. I upgraded from a 9800 GTX+ to the 5870, and what a difference. My fiance has a 4870 512mb card, and that thing is considerably faster than the 9800 GTX+. The 5870 crushes the 4870 easily. DX11 is great too. This card is also very efficient with its energy usage and its heat output. This card idles at around 51C, which is even lower than my 9800 GTX+ idled. That's impressive considering how powerful this thing is. As far as games go, everything runs smooth as butter. Mass Effect 2, Crysis, Dirt 2, Call of Duty 4, Fallout 3, Shattered Horizon, Far Cry 2, etc. It doesn't matter what the game is. This card blazes through all of them.

Cons: This list is pretty long... -It won't do your homework for you. -It doesn't think your jokes are very funny. -It won't pay your bills. -It won't make your bed in the morning. -It doesn't seem to like the cat either. -When I throw the ball, it doesn't bring it back. -It refuses to do the dishes or laundry. -It told it to go to bed last night, and it kept on playing for another couple of hours. -It's not very cuddly. -It REALLY doesn't like to get a bath. -I tried to ground it the other day, and MAN was that a bad idea. -It refuses to eat its vegetables. -It doesn't like shots either. -I think it ate my homework last night... I had a real hard time explaining that one to the professor. I could keep going, but what's the point? This thing is virtually useless in real life...

Overall Review: Seriously though, this card rocks, really hard. Do yourself a favor and pick one up while the stock is good... Did I mention that if you put your homework near this things mouth, it'll rip it to shreds? BAD CARD! BAD BAD BAD!!!

Pros: First off this has to be one of the most well packaged computer part I have ever seen in my life. It comes in a very nice box that has full padding. The card is sitting in a perfect cutout almost like a guncase. The card itself was in polished perfect condition out of the box. I am running this card with a i7 920 and I was able to run crysis on very high settings with no laggy frames. XFX drivers work awesome, I am running Win 7 Ultimate and there hasnt been a single issue running this card.

Cons: I have a thermaltake element pro case and this card pretty much fit wall to wall installing it. No way it could even be half an inch longer or it wouldnt fit.

Overall Review: When I booted up my machine for the first time it didnt recognize the card at all, only vga standard. Once windows got done with all its updates I poped in the disc and chose register and get direct drives off their site. Drivers installed really fast and then my computer reset with full detection of this card. Win 7 performance rating gives me a 7.8 out of 7.9 without any overclocking. I used to be an Nvidia fan but after changing from a GTX295 to this card. I think ATI has earned my respect and loyalty. Maybe one day I will buy another to crossfire but seeing as I threw crysis at it full settings with ease I have no need to get a second at this time.

Pros: Very fast. Significantly faster than my 4870. Fixed graphical problems within a day. VERY easy fix. DISABLE the overdrive function. It's that simple guys. Don't RMA the card, you're wasting your time. See my "other thoughts" for more info. Games that I couldn't play with AA now have it ratcheted up to the max setting and I still get 40+ FPS. Have it paired with a Phenom II, plenty fast processor for it.

Cons: None. I realize that everyone's mileage may vary when it comes to the graphics issues, tearing, etc. But I had them all - from Aero in Windows 7 to Eve and Star Trek Online crashing on me. The issues are fixed now.

Overall Review: I normally skip generations, but the numbers were too enticing, and I run a 27" Acer B273HU, so the more pixels I can push, the better. As for you folks who think that RMAing the card is at fault here, STOP. After reviewing forums online, from AMD, to THG, AMDZone, and Anandtech, this is what it basically boils down to: when overdrive is enabled in the ATI driver, the card is clocking down further than it should when in 2D mode, or too high in 3D mode, and it leads to the graphics problems that so many people complain about. I was dismayed to discover that my card had these issues that everyone is RMAing cards for, but I tried it. You know what? I can't speak for everyone, but it fixed all of my issues. My games are stable again, and I have zero issues. ATI is aware of the issue and will release a driver fix for it soon. Do NOT let this dissuade you from buying this fantastic card!

Pros: This card runs smokin fast and handles all my current games very well (MW2, RSV2, CODWOW). I also like that it runs very cool when surfing the net or doing basic computer stuff at about 40c with fan on auto at 20%. Gaming I set the fan at 60% and under load runs at about 50c-54c. Came with Free download of Dirt 2.

Cons: Fan at 60% sounds like the new Boeing 787.

Overall Review: I debated this purchase for 3 months and so far I am very happy with this purchase. The low power consumption is a real plus and alows me to add another card with my current 750W PSU. Q9550 @ 3.2ghz 8gb Patriot Ram 780I XFX MB

Pros: This card is a beast, nothing else can compare to it right now. It runs very cool and low power, and at the same time it deliver the best performance among all video cards. Overclocking is also a beast, it runs 950/1300 without any voltage add, and max I can go is 1060/1300. I have never seen such high potential before in overclocking GPU.

Cons: well, Overclocking pass 1300 will result hardlock for most people, but its fast enough. The bad part I don't really like about this card is the length, which is way too long and makes me use my old cases in order to put my card back in.

Overall Review: This card really destroy every cards in the market right now, for its price, I do think it definitely worth it.

Pros: Been owning Nvidia cards since FX series days. First time ATI and I can tell you Oh boy I love it! Fastest video cards ever own and the fastest singe gpu video card that uses a lot less power then it's competitor (fermi). I go two this to replace my two GTX280's. One of my GTX280 was dying with that annoying PSOD lockup. I RMA 3 times and still EVGA sent me cards that where bad. It uses less power then GTX280 or 480 but is way lot faster then gtx280 and way to close to a 480. This card is 6 month old and is able to just tail gate fermi in performance. Runs so smooth in BC2 and all of todays games with all video settings max out. Now ATI takes the lead with their great hardware design,10.4 drivers and Crossfire scaling. I have it overclock to 900mhz GPU and 1225 RAM. with stock voltage. I know I can do more before messing with the voltages which I don't really want to.

Cons: One of them was defective, I found out two days after using that one card had x8 bus. It show in GPUz and everest and the card was in the top pci e slot. So I rma for a refund and bought another one when it was in stock on Monday 19 April which was available for only one day, and it is working perfectly. I didn't want to wait for RMA since they might not have the card when they receive my defective card, so who knows how long till I get a replacement. Been following the availability trend for the past month and every once and then they appear in stock. The demand is so high now when everyone knows how fermi performs.

Pros: Plays everything maxed out! Crysis, assassins creed 2, Age of conan( how many play at dx10 with everything maxed out and get frame rates from 24 to 60 evrywhere! fighting in tall grass is a trip! I fell off a cliff and died! Conan is fun!) Play avp in dx11 maxed out no prob! used to have 2 4850's in crossfire mode. This card smokes both of those two cards! Did I say KOOL yes this thing runs very cool right now my fan is 40 percent and it running at 33 degrees or less c. when I game I usually raise it up to about 46-48 percent and the heat is about 50 degrees c! I run a spider platform, all amd-ati my cpu is a 940 phenom running at a stock 3ghz. I have the black box edition but don't need to overclock to play, or do anything I want to. I am very happy with this card! so far no problems! I did however download new ccc and drivers from ati/amd for my video card right of the bat!

Cons: thr price expensive! Hope when Nvidia comes out with there dx11 cards that it will drive the cost of this card down so I san crossfire them!

Pros: When it works, it works great.

Cons: The GSOD problem is terrible on my card. I can barely play World of Warcraft or Oblivion for more than 10-20 minutes.

Overall Review: Replaced every driver and even bought a bigger power supply to see if that would help. Needless to say, no bios setting will get this beast stable. I give it a week before I RMA it.
