ZALMAN RESERATOR 1 Fanless Water Cooling System (Reservoir+Radiator+Water Pump)

Pros: Keeps my system nice and cool, is stylish, and doesnt stick out next to my huge Lian-Li case (the case is taller by one inch)...

Cons: the unit comes with a pinhole in the cap for pressure relief... if the fluid you use readily evaporates(Alchohol) in the environment that your Reserator will be in then be ready to refill it on a semi regular basis...

Overall Review: At first I went to use distilled water and then water wetter with distilled water... that didnt work... the water wetter must have been a bad batch as it took on a gummy consistency within a few minutes... so I flushed my system... several times... and used the blue windshield washer fluid from Walmart... it runs smoothly now... and even dropped my temps further than when I was using distilled water straight at first... also... as alchohol is good for cleaning materials and the main ingredient in the fluid... it cleaned all the tubes of the latex powder, left in after manufacture to keep the insides of the tubing from sticking to itself(no longer a concern for me now that it is in use), and deposited the powder in a layer atop the fluid in the resevior(along with some left over water wetter gunk)... so I wont have to worry about the stuff possibly(not likely) clogging the pump later on...

Pros: this product has worked wonderfully for over a year now. lowed my case temp from 39C to 27C idle and 45C to 31C under high use. lowered the noise dramatically of my amd 4000+ processor.

Cons: extremely hard to take apart and not spill water all over the place. the tubing is nice except when you connect it to the slots bays in back, you might twist them causing them to kink.

Overall Review: i was worried about the pump dying as some users have posted. so far, the pump has not died with continual use (never been turned off) knock on wood :). highly recommend if your willing to spend the money. i waited a year to post a review to make sure i could write a good review.

Pros: When first installed, greatly reduced noise. I used a fanless power supply, and the MB chipset was cooled by a heat pipe. I had to leave one case fan running on low speed because of ambiant heat from hard drives etc. It was cooling a faily powerful machine (Dual Core AMD 64 4200) with no problems.

Cons: After 9 months, the water pump in the Reserator began to make noise, now the noise is unbearable (sounds like a radio with constant static). Far worse that the CPU Fan noise I was trying to avoid. I'm seein if I can get an RMA, but bottom line, the computer must be down until I can replace the entire Reserator. I also had some problems installing the water blocks, cracking the chip on the video card. My fault, but be careful. Once you set up on of these water cooled systems, you are kind of locked in. I think next time I'll try for exclusive heat pipes and radiating cases.

Pros: This product is still doing it's thing, works like a champ for nearly 2 1/2 years. It's totally silent no noise what so ever. Keeps an OC'd E6750 at 22C under load. Aesthetic wise it looks totally sick next to my TT Shark case.

Cons: Not really a con but you know you're not going to be lugging this thing around to lans and what not.

Overall Review: I'm running distilled water as per directions and have changed it out only once. Personally I didn't expect it to last this long, very satisfied with my purchase.

Pros: This thing is absolutely amazing, it dropped my OCed E8400 temps by 10 degreess without a fan. I was using the Zalman 9500 (a very good air cooler) I was getting 58c (even more because I was getting accasional lock ups) using FSX but now I can't get it over 48c. I am well pleased. And this is the first day of use, when the Arctic Silver burns in the temps will go down more

Cons: None yet, it's a Zalman...it's all good

Overall Review: Those who say this dosn't cool good must not be getting a good seat on their CPU. I had to dremel down the mounting bracket so the block could clear a capacitor at the top of my EVGA 680i I am running an E8400 OCed to 4.05ghz and still cant get the CPU over 48c and no more lock ups

Pros: Excellent water system, run cool and quit. very impressed.Comes with everything you need right out of the box. It hold almost a gallon of water.

Cons: The pump is 110 v and you have to turn it on manully. No big deal as it runs so quite. I don't think the water block will fit AMD AM-2 cpu's But it will fit 939 AMD and down come with all the adaptors

Pros: Very quiet, efficiently removes heat from the main processor and the video processor as well.

Cons: The pump failed after about 4 months. I called them and had them ship me a replacement pump without having to ship the bad one back to them 1st. They (Zalman) wanted the unit 1st to evaluate but I could not be down that long.

Overall Review: I did not read the online manual before I got it. Apparently it would not work on some motherboards that did not have these 4 locating holes around the processor. Mine did not have them so I had to get another motherboard and made sure it was going to fit. It did and it works very well

Overall Review: I've been using mere distilled water for 5 months and I haven't had any corrosion or algae. Do NOT use tap water, or you will certainly get algae, corrosion, and cause a short in your mobo if it leaks. Distilled water has been steam evaporated so it does not contain trace metal particles nor anything biological. And, antifreeze actually worsens the thermal properties of water and is 18 times thicker at room temperature, resulting in more back pressure and slightly lower flow.
