will one (1) PLA4205 provide network to- two (2) these PLA4225 4-port switches?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any combination of the single-port or multi-port modules should work together. Although with too many (active) networked devices attached, it's possible that you'll reach a point where you may experience signal degradation.

Question 2

I purchased a PLA4225 and a PLA4215 to go with it.  I've tinkered with them for a month now, and can't seem to get them to communicate with each other.

Because my house was built in 1979, and has limited outlets in the media room, there's no way to have dedicated outlets for each piece of ZyXEL hardware.  Is this causing my problems?

for perfectly running powerline network, you must use wall outlet.  Run a longer CAT5 or CAT6 cable to reach your computer; or use a old wireless router connect to powerline adapter, then connect your computer through N router.
