4 out of 5 eggsBest Flash Drive for a Key Ring

Pros: Best USB flash drive to hang your keys
Fast Read speeds
30 GB of storage space
Scratch resistance connection
Rounded end makes it blend in with other keys better than previous model with hex/square head

Very sturdy and high quality metal case makes it strong enough to hold an average amount of keys while plugged into a computer.

The Gold contacts for the USB connection are much larger than the old model (The old model would sometimes connect and reconnect if wiggled in the USB port)

LaCie CooKey (32 GB)
• Read: 26.57 MB/sec
• Write: 9.71 MB/sec

LaCie IamaKey V2 (16 GB)
• Read: 15.49 MB/sec
• Write: 12.70 MB/sec

Cons: I am very disappointed to see that the write speeds are worse than my old key. I would be happy if it was at least the same speed on the writes or even better if it was around 15 MB/sec.

Other Thoughts: As a PC technician this is the perfect tool to carry around everywhere I go as it blends it, is durable enough to banging around next to my keys and has a capacity large than I need for all my diagnostic tools.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Solid Drive

Pros: * Speeds are decent. 15MB-20MB read/write average.
* Durable and doesn't break off your keychain.
* Easily formatted when purchased so there's no junkware that you are forced to keep.

Cons: * Price was a little high when I bought it.
* Doesn't have a read only switch.

Other Thoughts: * Bought a couple, worked good so far.
* As a PC tech for a living you get used to having a read only switch so that you don't have to worry about any viruses / malware / etc writing itself to your drive while you are fixing a machine. That's the only reason I listed as a con as from now on I think it's the only way to go.

1 out of 5 eggsRandomly Deletes Your Files, LaCie Could Care Less

Pros: Nice, compact design, seemed sturdy initially.

Cons: Drive started randomly deleting files within the first year, contacted LaCie for warranty, their method of testing this device was simply plugging it in to a computer and if the device shows up, then it's fine! Wow, that is such an advanced way of testing.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to like this product, we sell these regularly, but when my personal one starts failing, I don't treat them nearly as bad as the everyday user would, well that tells me that it's time to use a different company. If your smart, you'll pass on this product. Go with the more established names like SanDisk, Corsair, or even Patriot.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Flash Drive Ever Made

Pros: Durable, fast, absolutely reliable, NO problems. Perfect in every way! Love, love, love it!

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Absolutely adore this flash drive. Huge amount of storage. I have purchased dozens of flash drives and this one is the very best. Love the small size, weight, design and storage capacity. Going to buy LaCie from this day forward. All of the other drives have let me down. There is no worse feeling that loosing all of your data.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat USB flash drive

Pros: Small, slim, very rugged, designed to go on your keychain. Fast data transfer-- not SUPER fast, but fast as any of the other USB 2.0 flash drives I know of. As of this writing, $90 for a 32GB capacity flash drive isn't bad for one of this form factor.

Cons: The little cap made of clear plastic to cover the pins was a joke. It fell off and was lost in a few hours after going on my keychain. It looks like the pins will be fine without the cap. I hope so!

I wish they included some kind of quick connect/disconnect keychain add on

Other Thoughts: You are NOT going to want to put this flash drive on a USB port while still attached to your keychain and all your keys.

You are going to need one of those climber-style quick release things (I don't know what they're called) on your keychain so you can quickly take this flash drive off your keychain before using.

A 64 or 128 gig version would be nice, as would USB 3.0

But then it probably would be too expensive for me to afford. Oh, well. Maybe next year!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 30 gigs of reliable storage.

Cons: it's a key. you can't put a key-chain on it without ruining your port.

Other Thoughts: On a positive not the shape doesn't interfere with the other usb ports on a laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsUnique Little Drive

Pros: I really love the size and speed.
It's quite portable, and already seems quite reliable.

Also, the thing claims to be water proof (I hope I never have to test that claim.)

VERY sturdy to be so thin.

Just wrote about 2GB to the drive. Didn't time it exactly but it only took one or two minutes.

Cons: The little plastic cap is... well... I can tell it's going to be useless, and lost by tomorrow.

The actual drive itself seems to be great though.

I don't really blame them for this little plastic cap though. The rest of the design is so stylish and smooth that a permanent cap would really lessen the appeal of the drive.

They made the right call using a plastic cap, and I think the "Gold SIP Technology" will hold up against wear and tear very well.

Other Thoughts: It comes FAT formatted, which is fine. But I needed it for mac and PC use, so I partitioned it. This went very smoothly, and was done in about a minute!

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT!!!

Pros: This thing is great! I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first, but after using it a few times....i LOVE it. The transfer rate isn't quite as high as advertised, but it's still really fast. I have it hooked to the side of my purse with a tiny carabiner, so I always have it and so that I don't lose it. The plastic end cap is now lost, but it's fine without it. I REALLY love how it dosent say 32GB on it anywhere. It looks just like a key, feels like one too.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsKinda nice!!

Pros: Love the concept and size. It's just like a key on my keyring! Seems to be fast enough and after doing a 12GB backup on it, there were no issues. Also looks like it'll hold up to normal every day abuse. We'll see. Lacie has a good reputation, so I'll expect it to keep working well.

Cons: The packaging! It's that heat-sealed plastic that's responsible for cutting an untold number of people a year just from trying to open the thing.

It's a little loose in the USB port because it doesn't have a full USB sleeve/connector on it, but I know they did that for size and so dirt doesn't collect inside the hole. So you may not want to hang this off a USB port with your keys on it. It's better to have a USB port on your desk, either using a USB extension cable or hub.

Other Thoughts: Why didn't anyone else think of this before?

It came formatted FAT32, which I understand, and I reformatted it to NTFS.
