Question 1

I really need dual monitors, but I don't have sufficient desktop space.  How does this work in a "Split Screen" mode?  How would you set it up?  Pardon my ignorance in advance.

If you are only using one computer then the software on LG website will split your windows according to the option you choose. So like the picture they have posted you can do 50/50 spilt of your windows, 4 way spilt, or a custom fitting you can set it to. This only applies the windows/apps. you have on the computer not the resolution (ex. IE, Word, chrome, etc.).

If your using two computers or 2 different inputs (i.e. computer and xbox or two computers) then you only can split the screen in half. Which I also think it changes the resolution setting on your computer.

All-in-all, I use this monitor with just one computer and it give me plenty of space to work in, Its AMAZING!!!  I wouldn't recommend hooking up two different computers and using them at the same time in split screen mode, it messes with the resolution and things get funky.

Question 2

What is the resolution of this monitor? The page says 'full 1080p' which would reference 1920x1080, but the Q&A page says in many answers that the monitor can do 2560x1080. Thanks guys.

2650x1080 is indeed the resolution that this monitor wants to do and it actually pops a warning up when you are not running that resolution (that can be turned off) because it doesn't feel that it's being run at it's full, beautiful potential.  By my understanding, when a product is advertised as being able to do 1080p, all it is saying is that the monitor does indeed have 1,080 rows of pixels that are progressively run.

Question 3

This monitor has 2 HDMI inputs. Can I switch between devices seamlessly? (push of a button on the monitor) All I ever see about using the 2 hdmi ports is split screen.

Basically, I want to hook up both my computer and my Xbox one to a single monitor and be able to flip through both easily.

The monitor button is right below the LG logo on the center of the screen.

Push it once to pull up the options, if it is searching for an input the left option says input. Drag the monitor button to the left to select it. Then you will see the available inputs and you drag the monitor button up or down to the desired input and push the button in to select it.

When you have an input in use it takes a few more button pushes to get to the input selection. It goes something like: push in monitor button, drag left to select options, drag down to go to input, drag right to select input, drag to desired input, push in the monitor button to select the input.

I wish input was a default choice as soon as you push the monitor button but it seems to only be a default when there isn't an active input being used.

Question 4

Can this monitor utilize its full resolution over HDMI?

Technically speaking, yes it can.  Be careful how you connect to HDMI.  I just spent a bunch of time trying to get it to work with my HP 8570W mobile workstation.  It has no HDMI, only DisplayPort.  I bought a DP to HDMI adapter, but it only supports 1920 x 1200.  DP to DVI-D is the same.  The only adapter I found that would work from DP was from HP and it was a DP to DVI-D DL at a ridiculous $129.  DVI-D DL, DisplayPort and HDMI cables all worked flawlessly  from my home PC which has all those outputs at full 2560 x 1080.  The adapters are the weak link.

Question 5

I use MS Office apps, especially PowerPoint, all day (please don't judge me).  Anyone have any experience with Office apps in 21:9?  I'd love to hear how well they handle the wider aspect ratio when full screen.

I personally use this screen for Excel, I do mostly accounting work. On excel you see wayyyyyyy more cells than you would on a regular widescreen monitor. 
But, all the MS Office apps. work really with the 21:9, there no funky ratio or weird picture sizing. The MS Office app adjust the window by how much of the screen you use. So for Powerpoint you'll still get your nice perfect square powerpoint picture (the presentation part), and it will still show up as a square when editing, but PowerPoint window it self (the whole PP app including tool on top, other slides on the left, notes on bottom, and etc.) will adjust properly by how far you stretch it across the screen. 
Again no funky business its a awesome monitor, I love it!!! it really replaces two screen for one.  I just had a little but trouble finding the right cable to get the full 21:9 ration.

Question 6

I have an Asus Ultrabook S500CA with Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. The unit only has an HDMI and RGB output. Does anyone know if this Intel card will run this monitor at its max resolution? I am having a hard time finding the max resolution this unit can output and want to be sure it will be able to fully utilize this monitor before I buy it. Thanks

The 25" ultrawide monitor that I got eight months ago, has a native resolution of 2560 x 1080, which is controlled by a mid range video card in a i7 desktop. My i5 laptop, with video card,  runs the monitor at 1080. Never had a computer with integrated graphics.   The monitors speakers are much better than my laptops, but I use 5.1 on the desktop. The primary use of my ultrawide monitor is for music and video editing. The long horizontal runs show more length on the time lines. Text, pages and lists are better viewed on a taller monitor. Ultimately, any resolution that you want, 2560, 1600, 1080, this monitor does it

Question 7

Will this work with a 13" retina macbook pro?  If so what connectors would I need to buy?

As long as you have a video out port on the mac book which I'm sure you do, just grab the correct cable or adapter and you're good to go. It accepts input like a normal monitor, it's just a different aspect ratio.

Question 8

The monitor itself has a very thin bezel going all the way around it, but the screen doesn't seem to actually reach the bezel for me. Is there a setting that I missed that makes the screen actually fill the entire monitor, or will there always the black bars all the way around the screen?

The monitor resolution should fill the entire screen. You have to be sure that you have a proper graphics card that can handle the 2560x1080 resolution (which most modern day graphic cards do). But if you are talking about the bezel going around the screen, I'm sure that's just the design of the monitor because it's not a edge wrapped display like some monitors that Samsung makes.

Will this monitor work with 2 computers running simultaneously in split screen?

Yes it can, you cannot connect two monitors and there is mode called PBP, which will show both inputs. However, the aspect ratio for me is not good enough, it is not as good as having two separate monitors, if it just for an occasional use it should be ok, but not for day to day use.
