Yes there are speakers but they are not that great when it comes to listening to music or playing games. If anything maybe you should spend 20-30 buck on speakers and it will be a big improvement.  But overall  the monitor is pretty good.  2 hdmi, dvi and, vga  ports on the back with great height adjustments.

Can this monitor be pivoted to portrait/landscape?

Yes, it rotates to the right for portrait. All you have to do is raise it up all the way tilt it out a bit and rotate to portrait.

Are you able to hook this up to a dvd player and watch movies?

If the dvd player is HDMI then I think you can but the speakers are not very loud, it depends on your setup and how far away you expect to be from the monitor. The monitor also has audio jacks that I've plugged my head phones into.

I would recommend getting a cheap pair of speakers and hook them up to the dvd player if you expect to be far away from the monitor.

I've hooked up my laptop into the monitor with an HDMI cable and watched netflix many times.

What is the total shortest and highest height it will adjust to?

tallest is about 5.8-6 inches (15 cm) off table (or ground).  shortest is about 1.5 inches (2-3 cm)  off table (or ground).

Is this monitor only for fighting games or would it be recommended for mmos too?

I use this to play a multitude of games on including World of Warcraft, heroes of the  storm, and different shooting games. Clear pictures, vivid colors, very easy on the eyes even in extended gaming sessions.

Question 6

Is this monitor capable of being hooked up to a dual monitor stand? I already have another 24" (not the same brand) that is and am looking for another that can be. I intend to use this for my PS4 to a capture card.

Don't think so. My son uses it for gaming and capture using Elgato gaming capture device but the monitor itself is built into a stand that allows both vertical and horizontal viewing and looks to me to be One Piece of equipment. (The stand and monitor are built together)

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT - DISTANCE BETWEEN LOW AND HIGH?

At the lowest, the top edge of monitor is 16 inches above the desk surface.  At highest, the top edge of monitor is 20 inches above the desk surface.  So it allows for 4 inches of adjustment overall and it's on a slide so it can be at any point in between.

1920x1080p it also downscales as well without stretching the image.

Would it be good for playing on my Xbox One?

This would be great for use on a Xbox One. I use it for my PS4 and its amazing. If you are into FPS type games you will notice a difference in reaction time.

monitor is kind of tall but I need to make it taller by putting a large dictionary under it and having it as tall as it goes.  I'm 6'2" though.
