No, that 3.5mm jack that you see in the pic is for headphones out with an hdmi cable in use im guessing...

Are there VESA mounting holes on the back?

Accepted Answer

No.  All of the various S3  27" model Samsung monitors we've purchased do not have them.  It may be that they do not put them on anything smaller than 32" or it may be the model type.

Question 3

I plan on using this with my Mac Pro workstation as an alternative to the costly Apple products. Will there be any loss of definition utilizing the VGA to DVI adapter?

The monitors, rather questionably, only have VGA and HDMI connections and come with VGA cables.  Other than that great monitors.  Not sure why you would use VGA at all.  Don't know anything about Mac but I assume it has the DVI connections so just use HDMI to DVI cables or dongles. I actually have two on an IOGear KVM switch using hdmi to dvi cables and use both HDMI and DVI ports on each of two computers from the switch.
