4 out of 5 eggsPerfect Fit

Pros: Just the right size for my hands. Easy sensitivity change buttons with voice indicator. Easy to use (and not bloated) software. Very nice feeling scroll wheel. Looks super cool.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To start I will say this is the best mouse I've ever used (and I've used quite a few). If I buy another mouse, I will get this one again. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is this mouse went bad on me just short of a year. Both the right and left mouse buttons started giving inconsistent registers. Sometimes I would have to click twice to get it to register. Emailed Roccat about it and they set up an RMA. I had to send them mine first and then they sent me out a new one. Don't know if I just got a bad one or if the buttons are not high quality enough for long use. Will wait and see how long this one lasts.

4 out of 5 eggsNice software.

Pros: Config software works in linux pretty decent. Works in ubuntu and opensuse. Mouse is covered in a nice material where dead skin doesn't collect on it. DPI switch is nice.

Cons: Config software always has had read write permission issues in linux. I was lazy and just gave it the gksu or kdesu command for superuser powers.

Mouse is too small!!!!
ROCCAT if you read these. look at the razor death adder. Try to come up with a shape similar to that and this mouse will be perfect!

Mice with finger grooves in them force you to put your fingers in a pre-determined place rather than you just gripping it the way you feel is comfortable.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could take the internal parts and put them in a death adder. Some of us like having big primary buttons. You wont accidentally press other buttons. Also very handy for drumming out a high fire rate legitimately with no helper software. This mouse does support remapping buttons so you can essentially get rapid fire but at tournaments that is looked poorly upon sometimes. The primary buttons on this mouse are large, and the mouse looks like it is bigger than all the other roccat mice. That was why I bought this one, Its shape. Needs work though.

The lag delay in saving settings to the mouse is non existent in linux, so the problem with lag delay must be your operating system not the mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mouse

Pros: Very nice size and shape. I have medium hands, and I can get a very natural grip on the mouse (*NOTE: I use a claw grip). The thumb buttons are well-placed and easy to hit. The left and right click buttons are very easy to press, but I have never pressed them on accident. The scroll wheel is just tight enough so that when you go to press it down, it usually won't scroll. The laser sensor on this mouse is excellent, and, coupled with a Roccat Taito mouse pad, provides insane accuracy in game. This mouse glides easily across the mouse pad, making easy to make very small adjustments. This is an amazing mouse.

Cons: None that I can find. I will update if I find anything major.

Other Thoughts: Great mouse for shooter games. Very fast shipping from Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsEasily the best most I've ever owned

Pros: This thing is simply wonderful to hold. I was used to bad dell/microsoft default mice when I bought this, and it was a great change. It fit's perfectly in my (smallish) hand, and allowed my pinky to rest nicely on the side (something very few mice have done in a comfortable way).

The most itself is light, but solid, and tracks smoothly on a mousepad. The scroll-wheel is perfectly clicky, making it extremely usable in game. I find myself not using the side buttons, or "easy-shift" stuff as much, it's less useful than one might think.

This mouse works perfectly with Linux, all the buttons are recognized. I'm running it on the lowest dpi with 2.5 constant decel in xinput. As an adamant FPS gamer, this mouse is easily the best I've ever used.

The mouse looks great, both by itself (dat sexy glowing roccat logo) and in the hand.

Cons: My first one just died on me (without too much hard usage). I'm writing this first failure off to random hardware issues, and I've already ordered a new one.

Other Thoughts: Roccat makes a great product, and the pure is no exception. Even with my first iteration failing, I can't imagine life without the mouse (so much so that I've put gaming on halt until I get the new one). The mouse is the perfect mix of comfort, size, and usability. I think the price point is fair considering what you get out of the mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect mouse

Pros: Owned this mouse for over a year now and it has been great, I've owned razors steelseries and logitec and they are garbage in comparison. Its build quality is superb. It's very comfortable, I have average sized hands by the way. The amount of macro keys on it is just right for most games i find, and with the dps and 5 profile settings on the fly its awesome.

Cons: The only thing I wish it had was adjustable weights in it.

Other Thoughts: The review where the guy is saying it takes forever to set profiles, its because it has to save the profiles onto the mouse itself you can take the mouse to anybodys computer plug it in and it will retain all your profile settings.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mouse

Pros: Tracking is awesome. The fit is great and it is a smaller mouse for excellent control. The mouse is also covered with a very nice rubber finish. Everything on it is quality design and the software does give a lot of features.

Cons: It suffers from bad software. 1) The lift off distance needs to be on a scale from 1-10 not low, med, and high. The extra low is usually too low and the low is usually to high. The normal is just lol distance. It is a HUGE pain to get it not to track when lifting off the pad. 2) it is extremely finicky about what mouse pad it works with. It wouldn't work with my Ironclad pad and skipping on my cyborg pad. 3) It takes 30 second + to apply changes to the mouse. Sometimes in game it won't even apply them at all! 4) Button assignment is difficult to set just a single key stroke to a mouse button. I could not for the life of my change the side button to simulate the key stroke "T". I had to change my game to match the mouse instead.

Other Thoughts: The hardware side of this mouse is incredible and sound. If you can get past/ put up with the terrible software than you will love this mouse. Also it might take a few pads until you find one that the Roccat likes. She is a great mouse but very finicky! Took 4 pads before I found one the mouse liked. Once you get that pad though..... watch out it will make a nub into a pro haha.

4 out of 5 eggsGood mouse

Pros: Mouse is great, soft touch plastic feels very good. Overall performance of the mouse is awesome, from the roccat bios you can pretty much change whatever you feel like on this little fella. On the fly volume control profiles and dpi settings is perfect.

Cons: No adjustable weights. It is a little light for my liking.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse With A Few Minor Flaws

Pros: One of the most unique aspects of this mouse is the ability to have customized back lighting. I switched from a keyboard with red backlighting (Cooler Master Quickfire Pro) to a keyboard with blue backlighting (Gigabyte Osmium) and was able to change the colors on the mouse to match the keyboard with no problems. The customization of this thing is great - after downloading the driver software that is available for free via Roccat's website (CD does not come packaged), then you can customize this thing as much or as little as you want. I like that you can also speed up or slow down the mouse by pressing the plus - minus buttons. It's already setup to use all the features you need like browser forward / backward buttons.

Cons: I could do without the deep, gravelly Christian Bale Batman-esque voice that comes on your speakers when you press the + / - buttons or when you "win a trophy". Although those don't really do anything. After spending an hour or two with the driver software, I was finally able to figure out how to disable that annoying feature. But using this mouse in a work environment, I don't need a voice that comes over my monitor's speakers that says in the way of Christian Bale in the Batman suit - "YOU HAVE WON A TROPHY". Something I didn't even know I was playing for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: I've been using a Razer Lachesis with my desktop for around 3 years now and decided to get the Roccat Kone as a dedicated laptop mouse. For the price I paid, I expected something amazing, and Roccat delivered. This mouse is incredible in so many ways. First of all, the texture of this mouse is superior to many other mice I have used over the years and definitely over my Razer Lachesis. The texture is very velvety and smooth, but still provides plenty grip. The best part about it is that unlike the traditional Razer rubber finish, it doesn't feel "sticky" nor "gunky" with use. Even if it does it is really easy to clean off simply with a moist towel/napkin. The build of the mouse is also perfect. It fits perfectly in my hand in a palm grip, all the buttons have great clicking response, and the feet makes this mouse glide like butter. Another thing I really like about this mouse is how the 2 side buttons are placed. They are placed above the are where you thumb would normally rest. One problem I had with my Razer is that I would often accidently click the side buttons with my thumb when going hardcore in a game; with this mouse this problem doesn't exist because the side buttons aren't placed in a area your thumb should rest in. Don't get me wrong, although your thumb isn't right on top of the buttons, the buttons are still very accessible and easy to click instantaneously. Now lets talk about the software. The software and drivers are very customizable and allows a wide variety of macros and settings. To me the best thing about the driver is being able to customize the liftoff distance. You can set it to very low which will be great for people who play on low sensitivity and have to lift up their mouse often. The lighting is also very bright and customizable on the driver. Another thing that found nice is that Roccat even tried to make the USB plug look good; I don't see that in many other high end gaming mouse companies. It's details like this that show that Roccat is really serious about their products and their fit and finish. Overall this is a fantastic mouse and probably one of the best mice I've ever used.

Cons: This is a very light mouse, but that can be either a pro or a con; it all depends on personal preference. The only major con I had was that this mouse has acceleration, and you are unable to disable through the Roccat drivers. You can however disable the acceleration with another program called MarkC Mouse Fix. I'm not deducting an egg because the specs did say that this mouse had acceleration, but one would assume that you would be able to adjust/disable it through the drivers.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is definitely worth the money, but you should think about which version of the Kone to get because of the weight differences.
