3 out of 5 eggsIt's 'okay'

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Still working after 2.5 years of use.

Cons: The signal is weak from about 60 feet, indoors, and it is much slower than it should be.

Other Thoughts: Try something else

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly reliable!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I've gone through d-link, cisco, rosewill, and a few other various wireless adapters over the years, of the reliable ones, they always overheated and died out eventually. Heat is the enemy with any adapter and this one runs pretty cool compared to most so I expect this one to last much longer. My cisco adapter runs so much hotter so it started dying 3 months after I used it. This one is still going strong.

Cons: You get what you pay for, but in this case, even though it was cheaper than most other brands, it's actually better than what you pay for. Weird, but it must be the design which makes it so reliable.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Small, antenna can move in different angles

Cons: Followed the instructions, tried both with and without the wireless config utility, I'd plug it in, would work, then 30 seconds later completely disconnect the device, you can hear the USB noise of a device unplugged, also as soon as you do a speed test, bam disconnected, tried on laptop, desktop, nada, probably got a bum unit, returned

When i did get it to work speed test were incredibly low, like 3 or 4mbs, once I hit 12mbs, I have a 24mbit connection, whats crazy is that Xirrus Wifi inspector shows me a better DBA signal than my older G usb 2.0 wifi adapter I was trying to replace due to overheating...plugged that back in, back to 24mbit

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and easy

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I bought two and they worked right out of the box without issue. I never used the supplied drivers and I swap them around on Windows 7 (64bit), Windows 8 (64bit), and Ubuntu (64bit and 32bit) computers. In fact, I even changed it to a Wi-Fi AP on one Ubuntu unit (a BeagleBone Black) with hostapd. No issues whatsoever and they have been running for over a year now.

Cons: A little weak on the RF side but still acceptable. I am not looking for crazy ranges with a USB-powered device. When in AP mode, I get about a 25-foot range.

Other Thoughts: Acceptable drivers already come with Windows and Ubuntu (and Debian). I can't say if the supplied drivers are any better.

Pros: Connected to wireless easily.
Maxed out internet DL speed.

Cons: It takes up space.

Other Thoughts: Why do I even need a device to connect to the internet anymore? This is ridiculous.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and quite reliable

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Cheap, White, Somewhat fast and reliable. When I bought this, it come with a free dock ($5 value). Here is the dock
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833997218

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: For someone who is one a budget and willing to use it outside of the case, in short, external usb wireless adapter. Need to install the driver from CD that includes in the box in order to work. It is not a plug and play product.
