1 out of 5 eggsSlow and useless

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Connects you to wifi...most of the time.

Cons: MUCH SLOWER THAN ADVERTISED! On average, this device bounces between 11mbps and 54mbps and I am on 105mbps cable internet. I tested the speed with this device and received consistently slower than average speeds with my ISP. I hooked up straight to my router and found that my slow-down was being caused by my wifi adapter! Since then, it is unplugged and sitting on my desk.

Other Thoughts: I am running a TP-Link router, so you would think the adapter made by the same company would not fluctuate in speed as often as it does. This device constantly dropped or slowed its connection to my TP-Link router at a distance of less than 15 feet! What a waste of money!!

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good, using as replacement for broken Antenna.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: -Pretty good signal 4-5 bars, my "Nano" receiver was getting like 2-3
-Good price (I mean there's cheaper options but it's still cheap)
-Continuous ping aggregate over 2 hours was 2ms, My Nano receiver was all over the place

Cons: - If it gets too hot it may reset (happened like twice the first month I had it) but then I moved it away from the PC case and has not been a problem since

Other Thoughts: Received a free USB Extension/Cradle/Stand thing that I used to move the Wireless receiver away from the case. I haven't had much luck with USB extenders and wireless receivers but the one it came with works really well.

2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't even go up to 50Mbps

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Fairly constant, there are no wifi drops and connectivity is real fast.

Cons: DOESN'T go up to 150Mbps, which I was pretty mad about. If you have ~100mbps internet at home, DON'T get this product because you won't even get near 50mbps.

**If I connect through a different one however, it provides at least 50mbps. I feel like I've been scammed!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Adapter

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I've been using this Wireless Adapter for years now on over 8 different PC's that I've built (3 of which are mine). I've never had any issues, only positive and great performance from this powerful piece of hardware.

It also comes with a USB Cradle which helps when needing it to be up higher for connection reasons.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Every time I go to buy this, it's always on sale for 50% off ($14.99) or cheaper. That's always a bonus.

3 out of 5 eggsIssues with Win 8.1

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Works fine, definitely not 100 mbps but nothing like this is as fast as its advertised

Cons: The latest driver does not work foe Win 8.1, took forever to fix the disconnecting issue as a result of the bad driver but I was able to fix it using the Win 7 64 bit driver, haven't had an issue since installing it

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: None

Cons: I don't know why this adapter was so highly rated on here and a few other online stores.

-Horrible speeds. Not the worst but definitely not great.
-Unreliable. The adapter will stop working after a few days of use. I have to actually unplug it and plug it back in to make it work again.
-Confusing setup process. Had to uninstall and reinstall so many different versions of the driver to get it to work. The funny thing is some unofficial driver was the one that ended up working for me.
-Occasional slow startup - Randomly it will take up to a minute to start working when I turn on my computer. Most of the time it does only take a few seconds.

Other Thoughts: The only good thing I can say is that their support person was nice and respectful.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: On a 50 meg connection I'm running 40+ on speed tests. For a wireless usb adapter, and at this price, it's done the best out of any I've used. Tried a few different ones and they were all unreliable. Replaced a decade old d-link adapter that started crapping out with this item. Not disappointed at all so far.

Had it a little over a week. So only time will tell how well it holds up.

Cons: This is reaching, but I had to use the mini disc to install the driver. W7 didn't auto install. Not worth docking an egg.

Other Thoughts: This is a steal when on sale.

4 out of 5 eggsOK

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Price bought on sale for $10.00
Detachable antenna
Works Linux "out of the box"

Cons: Only a bit better range then my adapter with built-in antenna

Other Thoughts: Will go into monitor mode using Linux

3 out of 5 eggsCheap solution

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This did exactly what i needed it to do and provide wireless internet connection. Mine came with a base stand as part of a promotion.

Cons: Would often disconnect from my wifi then reconnect. Very intermittent. Also kind of large for a wifi dongle.

Other Thoughts: Used this for over a year before deciding to hard wire my internet connection for reliability and lower latency. This should work fine though for non-gamers and light usage.

5 out of 5 eggsworked great.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This adapter finally just died after 5 years of use. Would buy again if I found it cheap in a sale bin.

Cons: None
