4 out of 5 eggsCosmetic Issues

Pros: Works well, battery lasts quite a while. Reasonably sturdy for its weight and size. Generally has no trouble reconnecting (for when you have to turn it off to use an app that only supports the on screen keyboard, etc).

Cons: The finish is very thin. This is only used at school, on smooth, clean tables, but the finish wore through to the aluminum on all corners plus the center. This happened in under a month of very minimal use.

As mentioned elsewhere, it is not double hinged, and won't safely fold behind when not using, like a Surface or some of the covers available.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: This thing is awesome! Compact and doubles as a hard case!

Cons: A bit spendy, but I am sure the price will come down.

Other Thoughts: I used to carry a MS Bluetooth keyboard around with my iPad and this product has made my life so much easier. I LOVE how it looks like it belongs with the iPad and doubles as a hard case! Great job Logitech!

4 out of 5 eggsThe best cover/stand/keyboard combo out there so far.

Pros: really thin & sleek, aesthetically pleasing, very long battery life, works very well

Cons: as mentioned previously, you cannot wrap it around the other way.

Other Thoughts: i settled for this keyboard because it's the best thing out there given my research. i did not like the price of $99.99 so I waited for a deal and stole two of them at 79.99 each. very happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsMakes iPad more useful

Pros: The keyboard is very functional.
> The keys are reasonably sized and spaced considering the iPad footprint.
> The keys give good touch feedback.
> The home key and function keys are useful.

It works well as a stand.
> Using it as a stand is great for watching videos.
> It is still simple to plug-in the iPad while it is in the stand.
> Great viewing angle for use as a giant alarm clock (with the right app), or to plug-in and leave my calendar viewable on my desk.

I can use my entire screen for email, documents, reminders, etc.
> Hiding the virtual keyboard gives you back nearly half of the iPad screen.
> Emails are much faster to compose because of the increased screen area and more effective keyboard.

It fits the iPad well.
> The design (opened or closed) compliments the professional look of the iPad.
> When opened, the keyboard/iPad combination looks and feels like a small touchscreen laptop.
> The magnetic hold on the docked iPad is adequate to hold it in place.
> The battery life on the keyboard is longer than the battery life on my iPad. I usually plug in the keyboard when I charge my iPad, but I have forgotten a few times. The keyboard still functioned well even with extended use over several days.
> As advertised, the keyboard and iPad activate when opened.
> It is incredibly light and thin, like the iPad.
> It is simple to connect and use.

Cons: > Like the iPad screen, the reflective finish of the keyboard shows fingerprints and smudges quickly.
> This is NOT a protective case. Dropping your iPad with this cover attached just means you will damage both products. It does not latch shut and the mediocre hinge magnet disconnects easily.
> The regular touchscreen use of the iPad is diminished with the case. You either need to use the stand/keyboard or completely disconnect it. There is no way to flip it open to use the iPad flat.
> When compressed in my bag, the keyboard leaves a line on my screen. The pressure of other objects against the stored iPad seems to transfer something from the white rubbery edge of the keyboard to the center of my screen. I have been able to clean this line off so far, but I again reference by comment about this not being a protective case.

Other Thoughts: I have been using the case for a couple weeks. Based on the reviews I read prior to purchase, the product works as I expected. The keyboard makes my iPad much more useful (the well designed keyboard combined with hiding the iPad's virtual keyboard is a winning combination). Needing to remove the keyboard to use the iPad flat, and its inability to protect the iPad are the reasons I did not rate it a five.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid and wholesome

Pros: This thing is stylish and sexy. After connecting the 2 pieces, it makes you realize that the ipad looked like a half missing a whole. This fits both the ipad 2 and new ipad like a glove and completes them. It does everything it says it will in great style.
Also, it's so light, you barely even realize it's attached to the ipad when you carry it.
As to what the last guy said, you CAN use it as a tablet by detaching it and mounting the ipad on the keyboard. However, in certain situations, such as when walking, I can see that being cumbersome. I loved the idea of mounting my ipad up to watch movies, read documents, or look at pictures, etc, without having to hold my ipad up all the time. The fact that this also gives me typing capabilities, and a case just mean that it is fulfilling extra needs, while requiring me to purchase and carry fewer cumbersome accessories.

Cons: I really wanted to give this thing 4 eggs, but there were a number of issues that a buddy of mine mentioned to me as soon as he saw it.
1st, it doesn't have built in speakers, and apparently there is a device being released in october that will have them built in. This device will essentially make all other keyboard accessories obsolete, but it's estimated to be more than twice the price! (I already dropped $650 on the ipad itself.)
That aside, this device will also have hinges, meaning the screen will be adjustable, and that the ipad need never actually detach from the case to be used.
The new device also is made of aluminum, rather than plastic. Making it more sturdy, and sexy.
Lastly, the new device leaves room in the front for the hands to rest on the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: You might be wondering why do I have so many cons, and yet give this 4 stars. 3 reasons, 1st, because I would have given this keyboard 5 stars had I not heard of the new device.
2nd, the new device isn't out quite yet, so I'm still convinced I have one of the nicest ipad accessories available at the moment.
3rd, I AM getting what I paid for. This new device does have all this really nice features, but they also come with that hefty price I mentioned. Meaning basically, for the price, this is still the nicest ipad accessory you can get, but if you can afford it, you might want to wait until october.

2 out of 5 eggsBitterly disappointed...

Pros: Keyboard works like a charm; connects without any problem. Keys are well laid out within the constraints of the size. The cover attaches magnetically and automatically turns the iPad on or off when opened and closed as designed and the entire unit when closed looks elegant.

Cons: With the keyboard cover attached, I CANNOT USE IT AS A TABLET! I am used to the Apple magnetic cover; open it, flip it over to the underside of the device and use the iPad. Trying that with the Logitech cover, I nearly dropped my iPad when the cover came off...! Let me repeat that: to use the iPad as a tablet you have to pull the keypad cover off..

Other Thoughts: It would appear to be a trivial design excercise to have a double hinged cover like the Apple one.... I will be keeping this unit, but I am extraordinarily unhappy that I will have to carry it around separately - or rip it off every time I need to use my iPad...
