4 out of 5 eggsno DECT radiation

Pros: had to get away from the high radiation of DECT 6.0 phones

good looking black panasonic design

this was the best alternative. it's corded but hey, my health is more important

volume and call quality are high caliber
dect phones spew as much radiation a cell tower in your own HOME

decent price

Cons: lcd display is a little small and not too bright

the designer went economical, no backlighting. cheapo rubber buttons

Other Thoughts: we'll see how long this phone lasts

3 out of 5 eggsWorked for a few years

Pros: The basics are all here. The handset, tone pad, and headset jack are all good. The answering machine's okay. The speakerphone's okay. It's basically what a desk phone/answering machine should be.

Cons: The display started failing after a few years. The "-W" white version gets bad reviews for this reason; the -"B" black one is the same except the case color.
Also, you can't disable caller ID/call waiting, which mutes the phone when it *thinks* it hears a CID-CW tone, but I don't have call waiting and it simply mutes loud conversations. Annoying. If I wanted gaps in the call I'd use a cell phone.

Other Thoughts: This phone is two bugs away from perfect, but they're serious bugs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood basic phone

Pros: Great clarity, plenty of memory for storage of speed dial numbers, good phone for the money. Battery backup and no batteries have been replaced in over 5 months of use. Easy to use - like erasing callers or missed calls, editing phone numbers, speaker phone (so when we are no a Long hold with a customer service person we don't have the receiver next to our ear :) and an output plug should one want to have a hands-free headset.

Cons: None really. Maybe it would be nice to have a back light for the screen. This is not a problem for me were it is located in my office. The caller ID will show the persons name - only if it is in the phones memory. Not a big deal, but I have a desk top caller ID which shows (if available) the person's name who is calling.

Other Thoughts: I wish there were more than just 3 "quick" speed dial buttons, (I am accustomed to about 20 "quick" speed dial buttons on the phone I replaced )but it does not take long to learn and use the search feature. You begin the search by using the touch pad to begin to locate the persons name by letter or you may also scroll through the entire list to find a person (scrolls quickly also). For me I wish the hand set were a bit heavier. An older phone had a "heavy" hand set and just made it feel sturdier. This is no reflection on the durability or quality of this handset. I have NO Problem with adjusting the Volume control of the handset. In the top right area you can see on the image the volume control which is able to change as you are speaking on the telephone. Also the cord to the handset is very long. I purchased a shorter one so it would not "drag" on the floor - I have the phone mounted on the wall and the long cord was cumbersome. Good phone. I would purchase another one.

5 out of 5 eggssuperb voice quality & feature set

Pros: Superb voice quality. Best I've heard - period. Very easy-to-use feature set, which is very complete for a phone in this price range. The speaker-phone is particularly crisp and clear. Big keys will appeal to ham-fisted types.

Cons: No battery backup might be a problem for some, and if you're not the swiftest boat in the water and put the phone in the glare near a window, you *might* have trouble seeing the LCD clearly (not backlit). And, no handset volume control, which might bother some.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a basic chorded phone with an integrated answering machine so I could ditch our corporate answering system. Such phones in this price range are tough to find - this one does the trick, and then some. Heck, it even has cheesy 'on hold' music to really tick off someone you'd rather not talk to straight away.
