Does this computer come wireless capable? Or, do I have to purchase it separately?

This pc does not have wireless built-in. A usb wireless adapter will work great on it though as there are plenty of usb ports available. I had my wireless usb adapter up and running within minutes.

is this computer ready to plug and play? just add monitor?

Plug in ready to play, but if you are a gamer an looking to put in a better power suply or a graphics card, you will have to upgrade the case. Because it is a micro case. But yes it is plug in ready to go. But it doesn't have a monitor.

Does this pc connect to a wireless router?

It requires an add-on; I bought this system for my grandson, and I also had an Adlink wireless USB modem that I'd picked up from Newegg for under $20. There are plenty of USB ports to accommodate it. It connected up to their wireless network immediately and works flawlessly for him now. It's a great system for him and I hopes it works just as well for you. Good luck.

Does this have Microsoft Word and Excel in it?

No. You don't need it!! We downloaded an entire office suite from LibreOffice which contains a full featured word processor, spreadsheet, presentation and database software. Google "LibreOffice" and go to their website. The download is FREE. I haven't used Microsoft Word nor Excel in 10 years. LibreOffice is good. It will work on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Ubuntu (Linux operating system).

No. I addeded the Rosewill N900PCE wireless adapter card which was a direct fit supports 450Mbps, was auto detected and the drivers installed automatically. Item N82E16833166076

It has been working flawlessly for streaming movies as my home theater PC.

does it have a dvd/cd drive? I think it may be at top but not sure.

Yes it has a DVD RW drive it is behind a panel or a flap that has the HDMI sticker.and is mount vertical if you have it standing up as it is in the picture. Ihave mine like that at the moment because the power button is at the top and easier to reach that way under my desk.

is this a used pc?

Technically it likely a used computer at some point, since it's a refurbished computer. However, of the two I've bought, the 6gb RAM and 4gb Ram version with a slightly slower processor, BOTH look basically brand new, comes with a brand new keyboard and mouse. and IS CLEAN and looks brand new.

I highly recommend picking up one of these. The OS Windows 8 might not be for everyone though.

can this computer do some gaming?

This will play Civilization V well; I have not tried any other 3D games.

The APU shares system memory for graphics which is not as fast as dedicated graphics memory. I would not expect this machine to play the latest first person shooter; but games that are a few years old might do ok. I recommend looking at the system requirements for games you think you might play.

I just bought this computer at the beginning of the month, id like to update to Windows 8.1 but my system will not allow me to update. What do I do to remedy this situation?

I recently bought this computer too, and I had the same problem as you and could not find the 8.1 update in the store. I am no techie and I was able to quickly and easily solve the problem by doing a Google search, which led me to a microsoft help link which describes the steps. I tried to include the link here, but was unable to, so I copy and pasted the info below:

Why can't I find the update in the Store?

Applies to Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1
If your PC is currently running Windows 8 (or Windows RT) and you want to update to Windows 8.1 (or Windows RT 8.1) in most cases you’ll see this free update prominently featured on the Windows Store home page. If you’ve opened the Store and you don’t see the update, it could be for one of these reasons:

You might need the latest updates from Windows Update
Although the Windows 8.1 update is downloaded and installed from the Store, your PC needs Windows updates, KB 2871389 and KB 2917499, before Windows 8.1 becomes available to you in the Store.

If you’re using Windows Update to get automatic updates, KB 2871389 and KB 2917499 will be downloaded and installed automatically.

If you’ve turned off automatic updates, if your PC is new and automatic updates haven't been downloaded yet, or if you’d rather not wait for Windows Update to do this automatically, you can go to Windows Update and install KB 2871389 and KB 2917499 manually.

To install the required Windows Update

Open Windows Update by swiping in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), tapping or clicking Settings, tapping or clicking Change PC settings, and then tapping or clicking Windows Update.

I then just followed the instructions and did all the updates on the computer, which takes some time, and restarted the computer, and then returned to the store where I could then find the 8.1 update and download that. All of this took a few hours and you have to make sure you are allowing your computer to cycle through the many updates (I think there were 64 in all), but it was easy to do and everything has worked great ever since. (As a side note, I didn't remove any unwanted software until after I did the updates and had 8.1 up and running.)

Will this computer run World Of Warcraft comfortably ?

I do not know. I am not a gamer. I purchased this computer as a gift for a friend down on his luck. Here is what I DO know:
1) My friend is extremely happy with this computer. He is doing more things now than ever and is learning Windows 8.1.
2) He connected this computer to a smart 41 inch TV to act as a dual monitor. His eyesight isn't that good.
3) He has subscribed to Netflix and stream downloads movies and television shows. He is very excited about this ability because he had to cancel his cable TV service which went up to $100/month. He did complain that once in a while the voices were not in sync with the video, but he attributes this problem to the AT&T U-Verse connection that he uses. 
I still think that this is one heck of a computer for the money: 64 bit architecture, Windows 8, 6GB Ram, mini case. As far as games are concerned, I would assume that more RAM memory would help performance. You could upgrade to 16GB (8GB x 2) because you only have two memory slots on this computer.
