I have owned this computer for a couple years now and I am looking into upgrading my cpu, but I'm having trouble finding one any suggestions?

Are you sure the CPU is what you want to upgrade? If yes: Shop around for LGA2011 X79 compatible CPUs.(The wikipedia article on LGA 2011 has a list.) The 4930K looks like a good option - more cores, newer process, better perf/W, etc. Question is whether the 4930 beats 3820 that you already have by enough margin to be worth the cost. If no: Consider a newer graphics card, more RAM, or an SSD. For gaming you will likely find that upgrading these makes a bigger difference than upgrading the CPU.

what are the dimensions on the tower?

Don't have exact measurements, but it is a large tower. I wasn't able to put it my desk because it was too tall to fit where the cpu is supposed to go.
