1 out of 5 eggsBissell ProHeat 2X Review

Pros: None.

Cons: The Bissell ProHeat 2X is without doubt the worst product ever produced. It breaks down every time I try to use it. It is an engineering nightmare. Even the service center can not fix it. It is a piece of useless junk that cost me $300 that I will never see again. I will not get 50 cents worth of use from this piece of junk.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend that anyone buy any product sold by this company. If they had 100 years they could not ever 'get it together'....

4 out of 5 eggsA very nice carpet shampoo'er

Pros: Powerful machine, onboard water heater, option of "water only" rinse. The Bissell cleaning solution smells fantastic.

Cons: The "one bin" part of this thing is a little small. If I put it on heavy traffic, I can really only do a 3x3 area of carpet with the full water on back and forth, with a water rinse back and forth, before I need a refill. Maybe if I go a little faster I can get 4x4 but that's about it. It does a great job though. It just puts down quite a bit of water. It does pull carpet fibers up and makes them into what look like cat "hairballs". Kinda gross to deal with, but its just wet carpet fibers.

Other Thoughts: In general, I think it's a good machine. I never used it on furniture but I will in the future. I used it on the floors in our office. My boss was very impressed and actually told me the carpets came out great. Everybody that walked into our office stopped and said "Wow, it smells great in here, so clean smelling!" Highly recommend the Bissell Deep cleaning solution. It works great. It smells even better. I used an entire 20 dollar bottle of the solution to do 6 small offices and 2 rugs about 10x10 each. The only reason it didn't get a 5 egg rating was because of the low fluid capacity of that single bin operation. (If you're wondering how that works, you put clean water into a bladder that sits inside the plastic tub. As it puts the clean water into the carpet, it sucks the dirty water out and dumps it into the bin. Since the bladder decreases in size as the water is used, it always "works" and clean is always kept separate from dirty.

5 out of 5 eggsWay better than Hoover

Pros: Had a Hoover MaxExtract, but it left streaks no matter how I overlapped or criss-crossed. I have three dogs and this unit lived up to my expectations. On the normal setting, it did not run through the soap like previous carpet cleaners did. Clean up on this unit was also much easier. Took out 5 screws and was able to clean all the hair and dirt from under the rollers and the rollers themselves. Cleaned the entire house with no streaking and looks just as good as when I had them professionally done 2 years ago.

Cons: As the previous poster said, it does take awhile for the carpets to dry. However, I would gladly wait longer for the carpets to dry as long as they come out clean.

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't use it new but I doubt it would matter...

Pros: The hose works well, the water stays warm, and the hose itself had good suction. Fairly easy to fill, sturdy, long cord that wasn't placed obnoxiously. It was easy to switch from the floor cleaning feature to the hose feature. The water heating feature can also be turned on or off, and the oval light in the front tells you whether or not it's on. Also, the button for whether or not to spray water is a convenient trigger in the handle and on the handle of the hose. Doesn't use an overwhelming amount of the cleaning formula.

Cons: The floor cleaning suction was terrible. The floor was soaked no matter how slowly I dragged the vacuum and I made sure that my finger was off of the trigger while I was sucking it up. The hose didn't always spray consistently and it's pattern was too wide. Emptying it without also emptying clean water or mixing the two is completely impossible without getting wet, and it doesn't hold much. The floor took forever to dry even when I aimed an industrial fan at it. And after all of that back breaking work, even though the bit of water that did get pulled up was dirty, the carpet doesn't look good enough after cleaning to be note worthy.

Other Thoughts: I will note that the one in particular I dealt with WAS a used model that belonged to a friend. Also, the suction on the hose feature was excellent, and the one spot of the floor that DID get much cleaner I spent a half an hour with that hose on. Even noting the used nature of the cleaner, I wouldn't buy it myself.
