5 out of 5 eggsUnnecessary

Pros: It now comes free with the original World of Warcraft.

Cons: Unless you just want this as a collector's item there's no reason to buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't buy this game

Pros: I have no pros to list

Cons: -maturity
The lack of a mature rating means exactly that. The majority of this game is ruled by teenagers who continually spout off vulgar, sexist, ra*ist, and otherwise offensive to one another when they can't get their way. Most instance/raid groups spend more time arguing over gear than actually just trying to have fun playing the game.
-not "newb" friendly
Regardless of how you prefer to interpret the word "newb" be aware players that most players are extremely reluctant to help others learn how to play this game or even have fun playing this game. Starting at level 1 all the way up be prepared to be fired countless comments that have nothing to do with wow whatsoever if you dare ask anyone a question about anything in the game

Other Thoughts: - time consuming
True you can reach max level with or without the help of other players, but any actual level of mmorpg can quickly become very time consuming. If you group with others to finish an instance it requires at least an hour of your time. Raids required an entire night to finish or more depending on what type of group you get stuck with.
-"how do you defeat that which has no life"
I've played every inch of burning crusade including all the end level raids and the higher level you get in this game the worst it gets. The higher level someone gets the more they end up bragging about all the high level gear they acquired and once you get past 60 it only gets so annoying listening to it in every group event you participate most players are likely to stop playing at max level and just start a new lower level character again.

5 out of 5 eggsEnjoyable

Pros: This is an enjoyable game. There is a definite jump in item quality from the basic game to Burning Crusade. All the new zones and instances give a lot of content to play through. The instances take less time than they used too, which is good for people with not a lot of time on their hands. I can run through an instance often in 20-30 min as opposed to 2-3 hours in years past.

Cons: The fact that there are two, soon to be three, add on means the cost of getting all these adds up.

Other Thoughts: If you liked taking time in instances and accomplishing all the objectives, then the faster instances might be frustrating. Many people do not take time to pick up quests for instances and, depending on instance, not all the bosses are taken out. Personally, I like the faster pace.
There is a lot more you have to think of to get your character improved all the way. This game takes time, even with the faster pace, so if you have trouble with time management; be aware.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat game

Pros: There are nearly limitless things to do in-game. I enjoy the seasonal bits too. Large group of people playing (could be a con). It runs on older systems as long as the settings are low. I've really enjoyed the game and millions of people keep their subscriptions agree with me. The graphics are good and get really good if you crank up the settings.

Cons: It's an online game and there are idiots - just like in real life. It is addictive ... OCD people beware! There's not enough to do at end game.

Other Thoughts: The key is to get into a great guild and play with or make friends. Burning Crusade's level cap is 70; after that there's not much to do. My wife and I play and have a great social life. We go online and get on Ventrillo with our friends a few times a week. BTW, I also own Guild Wars and much prefer Warcraft.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

Pros: It's a game. It is fun.... until

Cons: You have to deal with a lot of idiots. The game is only as good as the server you play on really. There's so much drama over who gets what drops in endgame, which is really the only reason to play WoW. It requires a subscription (as if paying for the game itself isn't enough) and there's no offline to escape the gold beggars, spammers and whiners. Just get the game and play on a private server so you can actually have some 'fun'

Other Thoughts: I was quite a bit addicted to it for the first few months and then realized how much of my life I was wasting over pixels. Pixels that couldn't help keep a roof over my head or anything. And some peopleworship this game? Wow... over WoW..... and yeah I had a lvl 70 hunter, 62 rogue, 42 pally... and so on and so on... If I ever do renew my subscription, I'll just do it so I can delete all of my toons, including losing over 4K worth of gold/items. ;)

5 out of 5 eggsWoW! again...

Pros: Continuously developed game. Always something to do. Easy to make a massive friend base. Will run on a budget PC.

Cons: Some players can be a bit immature. Cyber-bully problem. $14.99 a month subscription my turn some people off. Some achievements you need to make take an enormous around of grinding (monster-killing).

Other Thoughts: I've been playing this game for 3 years (aug) and can see playing it until the next big thing comes out. WoW has been a top seller for all 3 years I've been playing, and has topped XFire's most played minutes for nearly all 3 years too. A second expansion is coming soon so this is a good time to start working on your first character.

1 out of 5 eggsinternet is for hack &ppoorrnn

Pros: great graphics, funny cartoon chars. real life like experience.
beautiful landscape, more than enough quests and professions to keep you occupied. u dont need me to tell ya these.

Cons: minor bugs & glitches , constant crashes though, esp bgs.
there goes the main problem of this rave- reviewed mmorpg.
wow DOES NOT ban players hacking their game as long as users pay the $15/m. about 40-50% of all users has hacks.
internet is for hack and ****, obviously, wow is leading the hack pack. the only logic explanation of this rampant hacking is blizzard supports hacks, or even make hacks.

Other Thoughts: there is ZERO skill involved of game play: no rage/no combo points/ no cast time; runing & shooting /running & casting
u can see ppl use cross class skills or even different racial specific features. it goes so bad when some players disable damage taken.
bgs(battle ground) is a mess, honest players refuse to participate, ie they dont queue up,
av( alterac valley) always starts 40 vs 15.
even ppl do show up, they dont play.
in ab ( arathi basin) , players just commmit suicides and not getting rezzed, eg one running into a group of 10 enemy players, dies and walk on ghost form. there may be 15 players on one side yet u cant find any of them, not in their graveyard, not in starting village house, ofc they all in ghost form and waiting for system to end the match.
honest player will be called "noob" and ends up a loser.
hackers-- ranged warrior, tanking mage is the 1337 (leet).
thats what wow is for-- rebellous teenagers and has nothing to do kids.

4 out of 5 eggsAdicting however, no longer the best game

Pros: Very enjoyable while leveling up, especially if you make friends with someone that can let you know where to go when leveling or get stuck trying to find something.

There are some fine people who play this game.

Cons: Eventually the game can get boring or too demanding on a person's time. Too many beggers or other bad apples in the game spamming for something.

Other Thoughts: Dark Age of Camelot is now a much better game than WoW. Mythic made some major errors during the first several years, however since EA purchased Mythic DAoC has evolved into the best game of this type.

Compared to the old game, gold is much easier to get, leveling is much faster, PvP [Realm vs Realm] rocks. Max level is 50 plus Master Level 10, Champion level 10 and up to Realm Rank 13. Lots of quests for those that want them, no questing needed for those that hate it.

Most people use Ventrilo or other voice program, which makes the game even better in PvP. Many people have gone to DAoC in preperation for Warcraft Online.
