2 out of 5 eggsSo far, not very impressed. :(

Pros: Lots of screen settings to tweak the color profile.
Great behind the monitor button joystick thing.
Super sharp at 4k over Display Port

Cons: I have had a lot of problems with this monitor and I probably should just send it back for a different one.

Stuff that is bad no matter what:
The stand is cheap and wobbly
No VESA mount
Cords stick straight out of the back, making cable routing a challenge

My issues:
The screen randomly seems to be "resying" with whatever I have it plugged into. It will just freeze, go black, then come back. I'm not even gaming, just software engineering stuff. I think maybe it can't actually handle 60Hz at 4k over DisplayPort. See below for machines used.

If I wanted 30Hz, there's a wide range of monitors I could have used. I bought this one so I could get 60Hz! I'm an engineer, I can't have my screen randomly blinking out and locking up.

Other Thoughts: Computers used:
15" MacBook Pro Late 2014 10.9 and 10.10 with Intel Iris Pro over Display Port 1.2 (Haven't tried HDMI yet)
i7 4970K w/ GTX 770 4GB Windows 7 and Windows 8 over Display Port 1.2 (Haven't tried HDMI yet)

3 out of 5 eggsIf you're a serious gamer, don't buy this monitor.

Pros: -Resolution is great.
-Good for anything but gaming.

Cons: -Noticeable mouse lag in games.
-Very powerful GPUs required for high settings at 4k.
-Must have Windows 8 or better or everything is tiny

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor with 4k gaming in mind. That was a stupid idea. I'm running three GTX 780s in SLI with an Intel Core i7-4930k OC'd at 4.5GHz and games chug at choppy framerates at high settings. On top of that, for some reason I'm getting mouse lag in my games. I never had this lag on my ASUS 1080p monitor, and so I'm back to using that monitor while my brand new 4k monitor is sitting on a shelf in my closet.

Icons, text, and everything else is very tiny if you're not using Windows 8 or higher. You can adjust the settings in the Control Panel to make most of the text readable, but everything else is very small.

So if you're doing anything but gaming, this is probably the cheapest and most reliable 4k monitor you can get.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat 4k monitor for the price!

Pros: Yes it is a TN panel but the color shift that usually ruins TN panels for most people just isn't that bad on this monitor. Great color accuracy and 4k is INSANE!!!!! Ignore the reviews complaining about small text size and Windows not scaling well. Unless you refuse to wear your glasses/contacts with a decent prescription, you can read everything just fine.

Cons: It is listed at 1ms response times which is great but like what has been shown in reviews online, the time it takes the monitor to switch from a very dark color to a super bright one can sometimes makes the screen feel a bit slow. Doesn't happen real often but for the price who cares.

4 out of 5 eggsReq's DP, not HDMI

Pros: Size
quality
display

Cons: Stand is shaky
No mounting other than included stand.
Included DP cable is to short.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT use the supplied HDMI cable or any HDMI. this monitor requires a Display port capable Video card to achieve the full 60htz capability. The included Display port cable is very short, not not painfully so.

I am running this as a primary monitor with a samsung 27 inch sitting next to it running in 1080. The difference between the two is staggering. I am running both off a 760 GTX superovercloaked evga card, Its good, but I really need to upgrade possibly go SLI with two cards.

1 out of 5 eggsI got ant in my monitor, poor guy

Pros: Its big

Cons: Shaky, No VESA mount, I assume life is 1 year max, cause its staring to show problems in one month, well right after one month return policy expires.

4 out of 5 eggsSome draw backs...

Pros: 3840×2160 looks amazing, and for a TN panel the colors and contrast look fantastic as well. Worth the $600.

Cons: High PPI, I have a MacBook pro that runs 2880x1800 and it looks amazing, smooth fonts, soft shadows, the picture just makes you want to stare at it all day, I figured the same would be for a 28" 4k UHD monitor. 3840x2160 I figured would be great (Coming from LG's Super Widescreen 27" 21:9 2560x1080) but it's almost TOO much on too little space. I wish I would have got 30"+ honestly. If I use the resolution to it's full potential, I can't see anything! I have to move the screen closer or squint, Windows 8.1 is currently set to %150 for window and text sizes ect which makes it almost perfect, which I believe is the normal size on a 1080p monitor. I tried Small (%100) and it was....too small.

Inputs...
It requires HDMI or DisplayPort, sadly most video cards don't have a full size DisplayPort out, they have a Mini DisplayPort. The monitor doesn't come with a Mini to Full Size adapter, just a Full Size to Full Size cable. So I called around town, (4 Diff tech distributors here but Newegg won't let me put their name), half of them said "DisplayPort? Don't you mean HDMI?", the girl from (1st store) assumed I had no clue what I was talking about and tried to sell my a 6ft RCA cable over the phone...

Later that night I was rummaging through my adapter drawer and found a Mini to full size adapter, I was ecstatic! I realized I was the only one in a 50mi radius who 1. Knew what it was and 2. Had a use for it! I rushed to plug it in and get it setup, and it didn't work... No input detected with the adapter.
So I'm sitting there with a brand new monitor, no way to hook it up other than HDMI which works, but sucks because at that resolution it's limited to 30Hz.

I crack open the manual again just to see if I'm missing anything and I found a feature, you can Dual-Link HDMI cables. Meaning I can use two HDMI outputs on my video card, and plug them into HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 on the monitor, and the monitor secretly splits the screen into quadrants of which each HDMI cable handles 2/4 quadrants. Which allowed me to get full resolution AND 60Hz.

Other Thoughts: tl;dr

Pro's:
- Beautiful monitor
- 3840×2160

Con's:
- No way to mount on wall or stand.
- Setup was not well explained.
- Doesn't come with the adapters you will most likely need.
- Limited inputs.

My personal recommendation...
Get a new video card with the monitor if you haven't bought a new one recently.
I have a 7970 and it runs fine, however I will be going for a 980, that has a full size DisplayPort and more memory.

2GB is not enough.
So I'll be going to a 4GB card, 3840×2160, 60+Hz.

Going to see if I can't OC the monitor to 75Hz too like I was able to on my LG.

I would give it 5 eggs normally, but I am dropping one for the lack of being able to mount it. It's 2014... people like to mount their screen on a wall or aftermarket stand. Get with the program Samsung, for a company so advanced, no mounting options is ridiculously stupid.

3 out of 5 eggsok

Pros: Big, lots of pixels. No dead or stuck pixels. Not heavy for what it is.

Cons: I was not expecting this to be the greatest thing ever. I am fine with TN, no speakers and the stand is fine for what I need. I am even ok with that my mid 2012 Retina MBP doesn't out 60hz.
The problem big con for me is that upon 6 of probably 30 computers sleeps so far the monitor won't power back up without a power cord pull. The monitor has no led lit when this happens and any hdmi or displayport cable pulling or physical button mashing on the monitor does nothing. I have waiting up to 5 timed minutes after my laptop registers no monitor and has woken up. very annoying.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: HUUUUUUUGE. The jump in resolution from a 1920 to this was staggering. 1 Billion colors really come to life in 4k, and I was very pleased with my decision to go with this model due to the vibrancy. refresh rate is solid and it's more than usable for gaming.

Cons: Minimal ability to tilt, though this seldom affects me.

5 out of 5 eggs4k workstation build

Pros: Crazy sharp image. Easiest menu navigation I have ever seen, very intuitive. Pip far outweighs the lack of a vesa mount in my opinion. The high resolution allowed me to ditch my multi monitor set up AND the stand that held it all.

Cons: The cons that others are complaining about are no where near as bad as I thought it would be. (talking about the stand instability here) Although a stand that had height adjustment would have been nice, expected really. Too much of a good thing? The high resolution means text is too small without adjustment in your browser/desktop settings. Not that much of a con but if you are doing a lot of reading it can be hard on the eyes for some.

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor for work primarily and only occasional gaming. Have been using multi monitor set ups for over a decade, so nice to finally have one monitor to rule them all. I have all of my charts, web browser, tv channels (up to 3) and still have enough room to play a game in its own window. This monitor is worth every penny!!

5 out of 5 eggs4K screen real estate !

Pros: Just absolute amazing pixel density, on most games you can't see a difference between AA turned off or on. For photo/video editing, although the color accuracy and viewing angle is limited, if you center and angle the monitor correctly, 4K resolution is simply amazing. My 24 MP DSLR photos now suddenly don't look so huge anymore compare to my old 1080p screen.

Cons: For gaming you do need a pretty beefy GPU. At the time I am writing this review, GTX 780 or R9 290 are the MINIMUM level of video cards you should have, preferably a better one (290X or 980/970) or crossfire/SLI.
Color accuracy isn't comparable to IPS/PLS panels, so serious color work isn't very suitable. After all, this is a TN panel. But since I shoot casual landscape photos, it's OK.

Other Thoughts: Overall stunned by this monitor. I didn't know my photos can look this good; and the quality of video games even without AA is just amazing. Absolutely loving it.
