3 out of 5 eggsNice, but not that nice.

Pros: Very crisp and clear picture. Easy to install.

Cons: Stand was flimsy. This is a con, but a con on me. But the resolution gave me a headache. Don't know why, but after staring at the screen for a hour, major headache. Tried it again and same thing!

The font was very small at max resolution, which is changeable. But most users will not know this and should be warned (or instructed)

3 out of 5 eggsFirst Impression - replacing Dell 2707 (maybe)

Pros: Very sharp. Pixels are invisible compared to Dell 1920x1200 replaced. Color on the Samsung adjusted and OK. With text, cursor, and icon sizes adjusted everything is super-readable and very sharp. Stand is OK. No heat from the Samsung compared to older fluorescent lit monitor.

Cons: No Vesa mount. Blue pilot light? - Unlike previous Samsungs the blue light is on when the monitor is off which complicated setup! My ignorance, but the change cost an hour trying to make the monitor work.
Loss of area - going to 16x9 screen from 16x10 is a bit disappointing. If you have a older high quality 28-30 inch 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 or a 2560x1600, this monitor may not be worth the additional investment. A 32 inch monitor or TV could be a better choice.

Other Thoughts: Replacing really nice Dell 2707 28" corner to corner which displays 1920x1200. Wish the Samsung could do 3840x2400. The 6 year old fluorescent lit Dell is a bit brighter but gets so hot that often stinks of cooked electronics - the Samsung is a real improvement.
Color is good but could not make the Samsung align nicely with the old Dell. They do not look look nice side by side.
I am using the Samsung with an Asus P8H67. Bought a low budget AMD W2100 video card to get 4K video. The 2nd gen Intel Sandy Bridge board does up to 2048x1600. Using Windows 10 - far better than 8.1.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat value

Pros: Great value for the price paid. Excellent clarity, great picture, can't say enough.

Cons: Doesn't support any higher refresh rate than 60 Hz. I don't think there are any 4k monitors out there that do support this yet, and if this one weren't so inexpensive, I would have waited (that could be years though.)

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to get a 4k monitor, this is the one and this is the price point. They probably won't get much cheaper than this for a long time.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent....when it works

Pros: Looks great
cost is decent

Cons: -Stand could be better
-Mouse has a weird ghosting issue
- TERRIBLE SUPPORT!!!!
- This monitor IS NOT A CONSUMER VERSION! Samsung help WILL NOT help you anything other than a special phone number because this is a business product.

Other Thoughts: Samsung support for trying to help me fix this problem was absolutely unacceptable. I tried their main USA site, and was immediately disconnected via Livechat agent and told to go to the Canadian site, I went to the Canadian site and was denied help because this isn't a consumer model and told to contact via phone (which at the moment, I cannot)
Rude USA service and unhelpful Canadian service. Never will buy a samsung product again

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Great monitor, fast refresh, and beautiful colors!
Cords were included (including display port).

Cons: Monitor stand does not adjust, my only complaint. Otherwise this Samsung UHD monitor 28" is a great investment, and to me it is worth overlooking.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung U28D590D Display.

Please know that this monitor does have tilt adjustment. It has a tilt range of -1° to +15, as listed in the User Manual.

Place the monitor on a flat sturdy surface, hold the base down firmly with one hand, grasp the top center of the bezel with your other hand and push firmly and gently back. This should tilt the monitor screen back. To tilt the monitor down, just push the bottom of the bezel gently and firmly back while pulling the top of the bezel towards you.

For further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support toll-free at 1-800-SAMSUNG and a representative will gladly help you.

1 out of 5 eggsWent bad after 4 month

Pros: Great monitor and image a little lagging @ 4k resolution including games and videos.

Cons: The white color turn yellowish after only 4 month of use. I called Samsung and they are gonna sent me an electronic shipping label, i will have to be responsible for the packaging and also last time i did a warranty with Samsung took over 2 month, so am guessing am going to be without a monitor for 2 month? Yea good like if you work with it like me. Will never buy again from Samsung.

Now i do recommend dell last time they send me a new unit with return shipping and box. 0 downtime.

You Samsung should take that example is not all about selling more important is customer service and you are interrupting my work for probably 2 month. Easy as that. If this was a $100 dollar monitor i wouldn't care yet i paid over 600

If you do depend on electronics for your work bear in mind that if you buy from Samsung you are gonna have downtime.

Other Thoughts: Excuse my english

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy

Pros: Great value for the dollar, and good performance for the average gamer.

Cons: The stand MIGHT be a bit rickety, but how often are you going to be pawing at it? In all seriousness, it's solid enough I suppose.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you drive the monitor with a Displayport cable so you don't have to deal with any 30 hz or multiple HDMI cables.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Screen is beautiful. Non IPS panel but I still find that I am able to see the screen really well from almost any angle. Has DP input and two HDMI inputs as well as an audio out.

Screen looks great. Colors are really nice, the screen is decently bright, and the monitor isn't overbearing on my desk space.

The panel controls aren't traditional buttons. On the backside of the monitor there's an analog stick. It was a bit unusual at first and within the first week I was able to make changes to which input I'm using or change the volume level of the output or adjust the brightness to match my in home lighting. It's really easy to use.

My Win7 64bit PC recognized the monitor instantly over HDMI and DP. Of course my HDMI 1.4 output set it to 4k at 30 frames, but that was expected. My Displayport however instantly saw it at 4k at 60 frames. I never have to turn the monitor off after waking my computer, I've not had a single problem or glitch with this display.

I play Final Fantasy 14 in 4k on this monitor and have a great experience. I use a single GTX 970 to power this monitor and two other 1080p monitors. I can watch youtube, game in 4k, and keep reddit feeds up with no problems.

Cons: 28'' Is a little bit small for 4k, that much is true. But it's really easy to adjust the DPI to easily view the desktop without strain. And almost every webpage can be zoomed in on making the size of this monitor perfect.

The stand looks really sharp in my opinion, although it is somewhat flimsy. I knew this by looking at it, it wasn't a surprise and isn't a big deal to me. It sits on my desk, looks really nice and doesn't give me any problems.

Based on my experience the PnP mode isn't very useful. Changing to it will cause your PC to recognize the monitor at a different resolution and can mess up multi-monitor setups. Easy to fix after, but in general if you have multiple monitors you probably won't use PnP mode anyways.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is sweet. If I could afford another one I'd pick it up instantly. It looks really nice, the picture is great, and responsiveness is spot on. Upscaling on 1080p inputs are really nice also. My game consoles look really nice on this monitor. And with a cheap 5$ 3.5mm spitter I have audio going to my speakers and to my headset from the audio out on the monitor. It sounds just fine and the monitor acts as a small amplifier for the throughput.

Bought this monitor at a local best buy originally for 650$ Returned that one for the 500$ deal I got here on Newegg. Newegg is awesome and shipped it for free and the monitor arrived in 2 business days.

I have owned Samsung, Acer, HP, and Asus monitors and thus far my Samsung monitors are my favorite.

2 out of 5 eggsbuyer's remorse

Pros: 4k, 60hz refresh rate, Samsung, price

Cons: lousy, non-adjustable stand (height especially, but yes I did know that going in), cables stick straight out the back, no VESA mount, Windows always "loses" it when the displays go to sleep and moves all my windows to my other display (a Dell).

Text size is very small. It works if your eyes do, but if you have poor eyesight, go for a physically larger (30+") 4k or stick to lower resolution displays.

Other Thoughts: I have the display drivers loaded and brand new video card/driver and it drives me nuts having to move my windows back to the Samsung every time I use my computer. And seriously, the stand? Samsung has other models with better stands and design overall (cables, VESA mount).

I wish I had spent more on a better design, and/or waited for more choices (ASUS, Viewsonic, etc.?) to come out.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bright, large, and good after much adjustment.

Cons: The colors were very off out of the box and somewhat limited color adjustment settings (like gamma). Wobbly stand.
