Pros: Battery operation.

Cons: Love the concept of battery operated, but upon installing the batteries, the batteries became so HOT we removed them asap. We believe it to be a defective lamp :( Guess thats what to expect from CHINA made...BOOOO! Can the USA please start manufactoring the items we need and use

Pros: Good light. Enough to read my books at night, but not so overbearing that it'll wake the neighborhood. The USB hub is a nice added feature.

Cons: Switch for the lamp in on the bottom. Not a deal breaker, but would be nice to have the switch on the top of the base so I could switch it off without having to pick the whole thing up and reach under it. Not bad, just an annoyance.

Other Thoughts: The cord that came with it is kind of short, but it's micro USB, so it's easy to put on a 6' cord from the pile.

Pros: It puts out plenty of "white" light!
Excellent add-on for any laptop user!
Extra USB ports come in handy to!

Pros: Very bright for a LED light, perfect for illuminating a section of desktop and great for taking into the field and using with my laptop in a dark trailer. I liked the 1st one so well that I bought a second one.

Cons: As the other poster stated, the buttons are on the bottom and small, and possibly fragile. Not a deal breaker.

Pros: I bought this lamp for two reasons--desk lamp and USB hub. The lamp definitely fulfills my two requests quite well.

The brightness of the lamp is subtle, but it's what I expect from a little USB-powered lamp. It won't light an entire room, but then again, that isn't what I want. When I play Crysis in the dark, the lamp is bright enough to fully illuminate my keyboard but subtle enough to where it won't draw my attention away from my game, which is want I wanted.

The USB hub feature of this lamp is also a great little charm. My computer has approximately one thousand USB ports all over it, but it sits on the floor, and I was tired of having to bend under my desk to plug in a USB device. With this USB hub, which features four USB ports, I was able to plug in the hub once, set it on top of my desk, and now whenever I want to plug in a USB device, I just have to reach over to this and plug it right in--eazy peazy, lemon squeazy. Cons: As one may have noticed, I gave this USB lamp a rating of four stars. Despite its great functionality in the illumination and hub-ness department, this lamp does have a few drawbacks.

First, the switch to turn on the lamp is on the bottom face of the lamp--as in, to turn on the lamp, one will need to flip the lamp over to see and access the switch. This isn't the worse thing in the world, but when one has four separate USB devices extending from the lamp, picking it up, flipping it over, turning on the lamp, and then reversing the process quite be quite a hassle.

Second, the USB ports on the hub all extend out radially and perpendicular to its neighbor port, meaning that no matter how one positions the lamp, one port will always be facing the rear of the lamp. If I were to design this lamp, I would have placed all four USB ports near the front of the lamp, but what do I know, I'm just an engineer.

Other Thoughts: Despite the three cons I listed above, this lamp is still a great little desk lamp. I once had dreams at an early age of having a USB-powered desk lamp that also dual-functioned as a USB hub, and this little desk lamp answered my dreams.

This lamp also features one more switch--a switch that I was not expecting. This lamp can also be powered via three AAA batteries, requiring no USB connection, and this second switch adjusts the power input from the USB cable or the three AAA batteries.

This can be helpful for two reasons. First, if one uses several of the USB ports on this hub, the power going to each USB port and the lamp is limited, which may cause USB port failure or reduced illumination. Second, the battery power allows a user to take this lamp beyond the boundaries of his or her computer and explore new areas with the light provided, such as discovering a new cave (everyone loves spelunking!) or even lighting a dark corner in an apartment or townhome.
