1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: It looked promising.

Cons: Started smoking from first controller pot the minute it was powered up. Been building rigs for 15 years now... never had this happen with a fan controller... a PSU once... once... that is all. After moving the cable over to the next controller knob, I powered it up to only find that the one next to the smoking one wouldn't stay on. If I put my finger against the front of the knob and pushed it "in" a little, the fan would start rotating: but then stop again when I removed my finger. This thing a joke...

Other Thoughts: Don't even click on the "Add To Cart" button on this one folks. It sure looks good. It sure gets a lot of good reviews and I'm willing to part with $34 to learn a lesson not to trust SunBeam (should have known when they disappeared from the appliance market years ago), but I'm certainly NOT willing to part with my whole expensive rig, and maybe my home because this thing wanted to catch fire in the middle of the night.
There are others who have had similar experiences around the web if you dig a little.
Not gonna exchange this little piece... already have an NZXT on the way from another outlet.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes the job but not more.

Pros: Does the job.
Comes with all the required cables.
Easy to install for the most part.
Good price.

Cons: The female connector for power is extremely cheap and bent easily.

Other Thoughts: It is a good albeit simple fans controller. It does the job fine. I control 6 case fans with it. It came with all the required cables and fit perfectly in my case. It was easy to install. You have 2 modes manual or auto (pwm) and both are working as intended. Beware tough the female connector for power is extremely cheap. It actually bent when i was trying to fit the power cable in. I tought it was broken but i was able to unbend it. It was a nightmare to plug the power cable in without bending it again.

1 out of 5 eggsSingle worst item ever purchased from Newegg

Pros: Matches my HAF 922 perfectly because of the mesh front.

Cons: Everything, 3 knobs don't work anymore and every single button except the first one will not push back in. This is the only part from the computer I built in 2012 that doesn't still work.

Other Thoughts: I have a Kingwin fan controller from 2009 or 2010 that still works perfectly, I am thinking about just soldering in different color LEDs so it will match my case and call it a day. I will never buy another Sunbeam product.

1 out of 5 eggsPWM is useless

Pros: Manual mode works
Looks good
Newegg shipped it quickly

Cons: I bought this for the pwm functionality and this is the problem that I have with the unit. The pwm range is roughly from 10 volts to 12 volts. So even when the pwm signal is telling the fans to run very low - they are running almost full blast! I heard that the 3 pot version of this controller worked as expected, but this one unfortunately does not.

Other Thoughts: Not happy.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,
We're sorry to hear that this item caused problems for you.
We don't know if it's the fan problem or the unit itself is having some issues.
We would like to hear from you and see what we can do.
Please send a email to for faster respond/service.
Thank you for choosing Sunbeamtech products.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice!

Pros: 6 3-pin fan connectors. Works exactly as it should.

Cons: Doesn't like the tool less locking drive bays, so it needed to be secured with a screw. Not a big deal but one side was kind of stripped. Not a big deal. Maybe slightly pricey for what you get.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're glad that this product worked out so well for you. We hope you'll enjoy this item for many years to come.
Thank you!

2 out of 5 eggsNot so good afterall

Pros: Still pushes my (2ea) 90mm fans which are not so vital.

Cons: It will no longer power my (4ea) 120mm fans. When it failed it nearly burned up my system.

Other Thoughts: When the fan controller stopped powering my 120mm fans it nearly burned up my whole system. My system monitor was flashing red as I came in from mowing the yard. Thank Goodness the 90mm fans were still being powered or I would have lost the whole system. Now all my 120mm fans are plugged back into my mobo hence running at 100% speed so the pc is kind of noisy again. I was under the impression that this controller could power 120mm fans ( 1 outlet per fan). Will be looking into how long the warranty lasts.

4 out of 5 eggsGood looking and simple

Pros: I love this controller. It also looks great in my Bitfenix Prodigy - the mesh design makes it look like it was built to match this case! Plugged all my case fans in and it worked like a charm. Also, turning the dial all the way down does turn fans completely off - unlike other fan controllers that only turn them down to a slow speed.

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: The unit had good construction and it came with PWM (3 pin) extensions and several molex to PWM converters. Supposedly has an automatic mode that you can enable per fan - I haven't used that feature personally.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Quality

Pros: It was cheap when I got it, purchased from another e-tailer. Worked well for a while, probably about a month before it started breaking.

Cons: After a month or so one of the switches broke, I didn't even mess with it, the plastic just broke and the switch was no good. Now over a year later, 3 or 4 of the switches have broken similarly with little to no user interaction. Just bad quality components to break under the stress of existing... I was at my pc when the first switch went, heard a little plastic snap and some pieces falling, and then noticed that the red light had went dark. The plastic switch had self destructed.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted this to work because the idea is excellent, but the unit I have just did not last. Writing this review to caution others. If you get a good unit, then great. It has a unique featureset that I'm not sure has been copied in another controller yet.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: It works great, even gives a red light on the ones that are not plugged in/not working. has 6 fan controllers!!! 6!!! lets me set all of them to max at all times to keep my computer SUPER COLD.

Cons: doesnt come with adapters or extra cords(would be nice if you had a lot of 3 pin and no 4 pin fans. and doesnt like auto seating very much, prefers screw in.
