Is the front face plate removable for the ability to paint?  Would like to match a white case.

Hi John,

I wanted the unit to toggle hard disk drives on/off. It wouldn't work for that purpose, so I discarded it. It probably works fine for fans. My recollection, plus a close inspection of the photos, shows that the toggle switches are held on by threaded rings, and the front plates are held together by screws. So I'm pretty sure that the rings and screws can be taken off to free the front plate for painting. You will want to paint the screw heads too, or substitute others.

Question 2

How would I go about wiring in a PC Power switch to one of these toggles and use the other 4 for fan control? I want to use a toggle to turn my PC on or off, I'm assuming from the motherboard 2-pin hook-up. I am not scared of some soldering or complex wiring, I just am not sure where to start.

Accepted Answer

This may be a very vague explanation without knowing the details of your computer case and other such things, but it could be as simple as opening up the case. Finding the two wires that connect to the power switch of the case. Disconnecting them. And then soldering some longer wires so that it can reach the switch your choosing to use.

Only downside of doing that is that these arent push button switches so it will disable your from holding down your power button to shut off your computer in the event of it freezing.
