5 out of 5 eggsThe Little "Controller" That Could

Pros: Connects 10 (iirc) fans into one molex connector
Feels nice and sturdy and the fan wires will definitely stay in there locked
Good for people that like their fans at 100% all the time

Cons: Good for people that like their fans at 100% all the time
Somewhat worrisome output capacity if running multiple 140mm noctua industrial fans or delta fans

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if they included a step down cable to 7 volts so all the fans run at a little over half their normal speed. Would be great for water cooling setups because pumps have to be connected to a constant 12v feed at all times.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The restickable tape they give you to mount it with is kind of like velcro, but instead of hooks and loops it has kinda mushroom shaped things and holes. It holds it a lot more securely and more stably than velcro would. It's small, it works and it supports plenty of fans even if you have a monster of a case like a 900D.

Cons: I had to struggle with it to get some of the fans to go in. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsA must when you have quite a few fans

Pros: 10-fans, up to 2.5A
Powered off 4-pin Molex (power supply) or 3-pin header (fan controller)

Cons: Some plugs might be difficult -- be patient with it and don't force things
Buy double-sided tape for mounting it instead of using what they provide

Other Thoughts: I have three of these in all, two are in computers and the third is in a rack mount enclosure. In all instances, it made cable management for the fans insanely easy because you're running all of the cables (and any needed extensions) to a common point.

It comes with two different power adapters: one for a 4-pin Molex that powers directly from the power supply, while the other is for a 3-pin fan header. The latter is intended to be used with a fan controller, not the fan headers on your mainboard. The unwritten "rule" is the mainboard headers can supply at most 1A, which is enough to supply 5 or 6 low-power fans. So if you *know* you won't need any more than 1A of power for all fans you have plugged into this, then go ahead. Otherwise don't do it. Even with fan controllers you still need to observe the current limits to avoid blowing fuses or overheating components.

You can also convert the 4-pin Molex connector to a 7V adapter to under volt all of the fans. I do this in the rack mount enclosure and all of the fans are whisper quiet. You can find tutorials on how to convert a 3-pin to 4-pin Molex adapter into a 7V fan adapter -- the concept is about the same. Note: some fans required 12V to start spinning, so you may not be able to do this. Consult your fan specifications or contact the manufacturer to determine the "start voltage" for your fans.

One other tip: use double-sided tape to mount this instead of the included option. This'll save you some frustration if you end up pulling it away a few times trying to plug in fans.

Sometimes the fan plugs can also be a little difficult to work with. Be patient and don't try to force things. This goes especially with trying to unplug fans -- which you may need to do a couple times while figuring out the cable management.

3 out of 5 eggsBe VERY careful

Pros: Does the job for sure.

Cons: Since the hub makes the fan run at full blast, one of my new be quiet fans gave out recently. I really recommend people to buy fans that come with low noise/power limiting adapters to use with this hub.

Along with that obviously people have mentioned that plugging the fans into the hub to be untrustworthy because the header needs to be really far into the port to click.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We appreciate your feedback on the grid though the grid was meant to be an extra fan hub for your fans. Which would make the fans run at 100 percent all the time. If you have any issues what so ever please visit our website at support.nzxt.com and submit a request at the top right. Also you can contact us directly at 1-800-228-9395.

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

4 out of 5 eggsSmall, easily tucked with cable management, does what it's supposed to do

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do, nothing more, nothing less. All my fans work and I couldn't be happier.

It also sits nicely with my hidden wires in my Corsair 450D case. This is my first time tucking wires and the hub is more than small enough to be placed anywhere out of sight.

Cons: The only reason I rated this a 4 out of 5 is because the fan connectors go into the hub pretty far. Was it supposed to be designed that way specifically? Did they overlook that? Did they not foresee having to pull them back out? I'd imagine trying to get them out would be a huge pain in the future if I ever had to. To add on top of that, the connectors almost "click" in.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -10 fan adapter.
-Mounting velcro is awesome, especially with combination of white LED's it makes it easy to show off in the case. Made friends go "what is that and why does it look so cool?"
-VERY small and low profile.

Cons: -Difficult to plug in fans without it feeling like its going to break. I have to plug them in a an angle and allow them to sort of "slide" in.
-Fans, so far, are extremely difficult to remove form the adapter. Being difficult to put in, they are in a way locked into it. Nearly ruined my new fans female connector attempting to remove it. I couldn't get it, even pulling with pliers and slightly opening the adapter. I do not recommend plugging fans into this until AFTER you've got the wire management aspect down.

Other Thoughts: All in all if you need to control 10 fans off of one controller then I highly recommend this. Allowing you to globally change the fan speed is extremely helpful, and leaves you with, in my case, 2 empty fan connectors and one extra cpu fan connector from my motherboard. Recommend this product, but I advise you set up you're fan placement and wire management BEFORE you plug them into this device.

^Not worth taking off two eggs, but this is why I took off one. If they fixed this issue it'd be 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsThe definitive solution to not enough PWMs

Pros: - 10(!!) PWM fan connector slots.
- extremely reasonable price
- comes with adhesive to stick to the inside of your case
- low profile

Cons: - It takes a little bit of force to plug the fan plugs in all the way, which is a little counterintuitive.

Other Thoughts: Plugging in fans via molex adapters is not always a viable solution, especially if the fan (like mine in my old computer) would run at maximum speed all the time when plugged in via molex. Also, to have all of your fans plugged in to the same device does wonders for your cable clutter, especially if your mobo 3/4 pin connectors don't line up nicely with your fan locations.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks better than intended!

Pros: I grabbed this fan hub, as I was tired of running so many LP4 to 3-pin adapters in my system. It was a wiring mess and I wanted a cleaner, simpler solution to my problem.

Installation was a snap, came with 2 x velcro pads for installation as well as a fan extension for distant fans. A nice touch, for sure. All fan headers have a nice, audible snap to ensure they're installed securely.

After booting my system up, I noticed the fans were running at a higher speed than before. Seems as if my LP4 converters were not delivering full voltage to each fan, and I was missing out on some cooling performance! Needless to say, I was impressed.

Cons: They could include more fan extensions, but this is really a minor gripe than anything else. All other features of the product are perfect, as is.

Other Thoughts: This unit is powering 4 x Corsair SP120's and 3 x AF120's in my Corsair 350D (2 x SP's are attached to my heatsink). If you own this case and want lots of fans, grab one of these!

2 out of 5 eggsNot the best

Pros: It works

Cons: Some of the pins were bent so I could not plug in a fan; luckily I don't need all 10.

There is a small plastic piece that is supposed to keep the pins in a certain position and helps the fan plug slide in, and that piece fell out of at least 3 of the 10 ports. Keep in mind the ports will still work without the piece (if you can bend the pins up a little) but it shows that the thing isn't very well made.

Other Thoughts: 3 white LEDs are a nice touch

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Anonymous,

Ouch a broken pin does not sound good at all, although you're currently not using that fan slot we would advice that you have this exchange right away. If you are currently under newegg's warranty period we suggest to go forth with the exchange. If you are no longer under Newegg's warranty, please feel free to contact our support at www.nzxt.com/support or contact us directly at 1-800-228-9395. We hope to hear back from you very soon.
