Scythe KM01-BK "KAZE MASTER" 5.25" Bay Fan Controller

Pros: Works fine in controlling and display the fan speeds.

Cons: I purchased this controller in June of 08 for may old build. My only disappointment with it is it is impossible to see the readouts for the temp settings. It has nothing to do with the angle. They are just very dim as if there is no backlight like there is on the speed readouts. I don't think it is a defect just a poor design.

Other Thoughts: Except for the useless temp readouts this controller has worked fine for 4 years. Because of the importance of being able to see the temp readouts I would not purchase another one.

Pros: Straightforward monitoring, Clear display, Loud Alarm, Just simple knobs and immediate status.

Cons: Lots of wires, but how do you avoid that?

Other Thoughts: Works great. It's easy to see what you intend. The fan speeds are shown and updated every second along with every temperature sensor. If a fan stops but the controller is sending power to it an alarm goes off.

Make sure you have pwm fans with speed sensors.

Pros: its an easy and quick install. and the screen is easy to read.

Cons: N/A

Pros: Monitors temps and rpm for the fans, well built, led display works.

Cons: Difficult to install the plugs for the fans, small, took about an hour to put together, alarm keeps irritating me so I removed it, the tape to hold the temp modules are poor making it stick to the heat sink is difficult, but obviously placing it on my hdd was easy.

Other Thoughts: The fan is okay, but with the alarm and plugging in the fans were difficult and as I was fixing the cables they keep slipping out so it takes about 3 minutes to plug back in, but after setting everything together they were okay, will make an update on the fan controller.

Pros: easy to install. cheap. bright led lights. knobs are sturdy. shows the temps and rpms. but not the 3rd led for rpm

Cons: came with busted led light on the 3rd led light for the rpm.

Other Thoughts: RMA'd for replacement if available. still waiting for their reply.

Pros: * Blue display isn't TOO bright
* Two shades of blue make discerning the temperature and RPM readouts
* Metal bracket and thick front board means a solid mount
* Rotary dials have a very solid feel to them
* The lowest setting on the fan controller DOES set the fan to off and displays "OFF"
* Unit just *looks* nice. Reminds me of the readout from in-car climate controls. Very uncluttered and classy. Too many fan controllers look like something out of a stereo competition.

Cons: * Included tape for temperature sensor fell off within a week, but my case is not new--dust contributed, I'm sure.
* Doesn't quite seem to fit the opening on my case--it's a little small
* Removing requires pushing on the circuit board in the back on my case. There's no flex and no reason to thing it would break, but it makes me nervous

Other Thoughts: This is a good product (with a couple of flaws, none serious) backed up with great customer service. As shipped, one of the fan connectors was miswired (sense and +V were flipped). When I attempted to swap them myself, I broke the connector. I contacted Scythe expecting to pay shipping and maybe a small fee for a replacement cable. When I provided them my Newegg invoice, they sent me an ENTIRE second cable package (power, 4+ temp probes, 4 fan extension cables) at no charge.

I would definitely buy from Scythe again after this.

Cons: None, I'm happy with this controller.

Other Thoughts: The two extra temp. sensor wires are a nice touch.

Pros: Plugged it in and it worked. Looks cool! Goes great with a blue theme. Came with extra sensor wires. This product went through a lot to get to me. Arrived in perfect condition. UPS Rocks!

Other Thoughts: Some report the nobs are flimsy. This is true. I do not think they will take much abuse. Works fine for me. Just what I needed, thanks Newegg!

Pros: Easy to install, works as its suppose too.

Cons: not really any cons except trying to deal with more cable management. the good thing is that the cables are nice and long , so its easy to rout them behind the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: very nice and affordable fan controller.

Pros: This controller has amazing fan control accuracy, great look, and easy reading from a 45-degree angle. The fan alarms are loud, which is a plus for me, but can be disabled easily during installation. If my Liquid Cooling Radiator fan goes out, I want to know about it immediately, so I love the alarm! I also love the fact that all the wiring leads are long enough to get anywhere in the case you need to get.

Cons: Although I had zip ties already, it would have been nice to see some in the box for those who didn’t. Also, what’s with the yellow tape to attach the probes?

Other Thoughts: Many will find it difficult to place the temp sensors unless you are doing a new build. I ran my system under different load conditions and compared the results to those from the SpeedFan program. Since I obviously couldn’t get a perfect reading for the CPU because it was sitting under the Liquid Cooling pump, I did the best I could, and noted the discrepancy between the SpeedFan reading coming from the motherboard and the controller. Once I knew to add 5C to the controller reading, everything was good. The GPU reading may be off a little also depending on the cards you have and where you can place the sensor. It’s a breeze attaching the probes to get case, RAM, or drive temps.
