Scythe Co. knows the problem: you've got lots of fans, lots of noise, and you still don't know if the fans are actually cooling things off enough. In fact, you don't even know if all of your fans are actually turning.
Here's their solution: a panel that checks the temperature in up to four locations and the speed of up to four fans (may require three-pin connectors on fans) every two seconds. You manually fine tune the speed of each fan for the best compromise between temperature and noise, and an audio alarm lets you know if there is a fan or a temperature failure. Mounted on a sturdy aluminum frame that fits in an unused 5.25 inch bay, it is available in black (KM02-BK) or silver (KM02-SL).
Take control of the single most dangerous factor a computer faces: its own heat. Is this for you? That's your decision, but I think I want one.

Can't go wrong with this!
- Pros: -Very simple yet classy design
-Extremely easy to install -High precision RPM tuning -Accurate temperature readings -Price -Everything else....
- Cons: -Can't control 20 fans?! What???
- Other Thoughts: This Scythe Kaze Master Ace is by far the best fan controller I have ever worked with. Having previously owned the Zalman ZM-MFC2, AeroCool Gatewatch 2, I can tell you that this one is the best in every aspect of a fan controller. It's simple yet classy design is great eye-candy and it's functionality is just right - to control fans and take temp readings. If you want other fluff, look for something else.
Installation is EXTREMELY easy; it took me about 30 minutes to do it. You can precisely tweak the RPM of any fan with 30 RPM intervals but there is a bit of a lag between input and response but nothing major. It reads temperatures for each component with an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees Celsius (when compared with on-board temp readings). It's very customizable; you can switch between F and C degrees and disable the alarm. It comes with 6 temperature probes and you also get 4, 4-pin PWM to 3 pin connector cables (NOT 4 pin molex connectors; you'll have to get those yourself).
GET IT
- Pros: Nice brushed aluminum plate and knobs, simple interface, alarm.
Readout visible from any angle. Takes fans to their full rated speed.
- Cons: One temp probe was dead...found out AFTER I installed it on CPU. Package comes with extra probes though
- Other Thoughts: Was waiting for something simple and solid...this is it.

simple, perfect
- Pros: Easy to use, sturdy
- Cons: thin... a con for some unconventional cases
A Nice Add-on
- Pros: Nice looking add-on to the HAF932 Case! Great to be able to monitor the fan speeds and peripheral temps.
- Cons: Somewhat fragile. Thought one of the knobs was going to fall off during install. The sticky tape for the sensors doesn't stick to anything, even after cleaning areas with alcohol.
Had to use my own double sided tape.
Not sure about accuracy of temps as it's very difficult to find areas to place sensors and tape them down. Actually taped the CPU sensor on the backside of the MOBO.
Max Fan Speeds seem low...700-750 maximum (any thoughts here?)
- Other Thoughts: Not sure if it actually has a "practical use". Maybe just for bling?
One thing for sure, combined with the HAF932 case and it's four fans...things are running quite cool man!
Thermal Couple mounting
- Pros: Works as per spec
- Cons: Thermal couples break easy.
Be carefully how far under any Heatsink you install the TC's to object being cooled and that is also being torque down, to much torque and the little ball on the end will crack, then No Temp readings and or control. Mount it near the edge of a Heatsink and object or use Copper tape to hold it in place on the Heat Pipes near the object being cooled.
- Other Thoughts: Would be better if product eng would use TC's that were made flat and not two dissimilar metals just welded at the ends, which results in a ball.

Precious aluminum design: High-quality materials were used when producing the Kaze Master Ace. The front consists of brushed aluminum and accentuates the blue illuminated VFD display in an optimal way.
Fan control and temperature monitoring: With the Kaze Master Ace, four fans can be controlled independently, and four temperatures (in either ° C or °F) can be monitored. An integrated acoustic alarm function (which can be deactivated by a jumper) warns the user from overheating and failure of a fan.
Wide range of fan controller: The fan voltage can be independently controlled from 3.7 - 12 V, in addition, the fan can be switched off completely which allows the user to choose between high and ultra-cooling operation. |
