Awesome
- Pros: Works as it should, looks GREAT on the front of my Coolermaster 310 case.
- Cons: Snug fit, but finally got it in there.
Controller Review
- Pros: Simple, no bright lights.... Perfect... Looks great on a case that you want to keep minimal....
- Cons: None at this time.
Good Controller
- Pros: Looks great in Cooler Master Storm Scout 3.5" bay I only need three fan controls so far. I chose to use this instead of motherboard fan controls since I didn't want to hear my Scythe 120mm fans on high. Its cheap, but could be a lot cheaper for the functionality that you get. Perhaps the price is due to higher quality. Only time will tell. I really like the looks of this thing on the front pannel of my case!
- Cons: Storm Scout case is tool less, but when I used the tool less system this fan controller still slid in and out. After further inspection, I noticed that the 1/2 side walls on the Scythe that the tool less system clamps onto, just weren't tall enough. The tool less system just couldn't get a grip on the Scythe fan controller. I ended up using screws to hold it in. That worked perfectly. It also doesn't turn fans all the way to zero rpms. I would have liked to reduce my fan speed a little more to quiet my system. Maybe after these fans die I will get quieter ones. Oh well, it's not so bad. That's the price of way overdoing the cooling system. There are no indentations or marks on knobs or faceplate to indicate fan speed. You pretty much control the fans by ear. Which is sometimes hard since I have one fan that I can't hear at all even though it is spinning.
- Other Thoughts: Very sleek looking design is flush with front of mesh on my case. Even with screws holding it in, the controller is perfectly flush in my tool less bay. For ease of installation, I partially installed the screws in the fan controller before inserting this thing into my case. Then I pushed it into the 3.5" bay and locked down the tool less device. Then I slid the controller until I heard a snap. That was the screws going into the screw holes. It hasn't moved since. I would buy this fan controller again. No overpowering lights, and sleek design really add to my computers looks.
