Very good, watch the screws
- Pros: Excellent product, easy to follow instructions, (relatively) quiet fan. Drives are quiet in case, solid connection from drives to cage and cage to case.
- Cons: Installation process a little difficult, even with a CoolerMaster case. Screws can be a hazard. See other thoughts.
- Other Thoughts: The screws provided for the hard drives are only one length. If you are not careful, you could damage internal circuitry for the drives. Thankfully, I had plenty of smaller length screws to work properly. Four drives are installed in raid 5, very quiet setup.
What I needed
- Pros: Just what I needed for the Cooler Master Stacker 830 Nvidia Case.. identical to the one that comes supplied and fits just like it should anywhere you need it in the front of the case.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Use it to add additional drives and a fan.. or just a fan with a future option for additional drives.. either way, its beneficial.
I can't comment of the supplied fan.. I immediately removed it to install a Zalman 120mm Green fan for a themed install.
- Pros: It comes with a 120mm fan, the fan has a grill, it's cheap (compared to other options).
- Cons: The fan is mounted with plastic clips, as opposed to something made from rubber, so every once in a while you can pick up a rattling noise. The noise isn't noticeable if you run the fan at full speed.
- Other Thoughts: It was annoying to take it in and out of a case that used rails (ie. the old but once popular Chieftec Dragon case). The problem came mostly from the fact that there's a little bit of play in terms of the vertical alignment of each rail. Because there is no give (the rails are all attached to the same piece of metal) you get rails that come in too close to the part of the case they slide into. This means sometimes you'll have to use a bit of force.
