5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: It's a one for all device. Turn your PC on by remote, use the mouse and keyboard feature built in to the remote and software. Customize your display by changing the font, the type of data displayed and more. I love it!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm using it with Windows 7 64-bit. Had to download the newest software from Antec, no big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: 1. Appearance- 2 knobs for manual control. No frills plain buttonology. Basic and more classy than I expected.
2. Installation- Incredibly easy set up and use.
3. Immediate access to internet radio.
4. Price- Considering that you are buying a controller for your computer which allows complete access from a remote it's a steal.
5. The fact that the apparatus requires 2 bays results in a better than average appearance.
6. It scrolls the news by default. As a person who never watches the news this allows me to be more up to date on the things I don't care about.

Cons: 1. The most irritating thing is the blurring of the letters on the LED as they scroll. A few more LED with faster de-illumination would fix this right up.
2. It takes up 2 bays. I don't need all 10 5.25" bays but I dislike turf hogging.

Other Thoughts: This is a better than expected device especially when considering the price. The requirement for 2 bays would be an issue if you have a computer which lacks adequate space. However, this same requirement is what results in the improved appearance. The blurring of the letters as they scroll across the LED is annoying but not enough to detract significantly from either the functioning or the appearance. The lettering remains legible.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat device

Pros: Works great with windows 7, media center. Remote is very quick and responsive - is quicker than several other remotes I've used. Makes Media Center feel much quicker. I also like being able to use the remote as a mouse, not just as a menu selection device.

Cons: Was very difficult to fit in the case. The problem was the width of the device, not the height. I had 3 empty slots, but it needed a lot of squeezing to fit widthwise.

3 out of 5 eggsHave to get Humble-update

Pros: I need to eat some humble pie, but only a bite or two. I gave a kind of review of this with only one egg because I had to but I perservered and wasa able to get the latest software downloaded and I was able to get it installed (win7 x64) and it is a cool little thing and though it cant do all that much it will turn the computer on without having to get up something my wifi mouse will not but used in tandem with the mouse I have found some uses for it. In PowerDVD 9 and it has its own little versions of a launcher and of Media Center as well. The remote did work on the few basic tests i gave itand i have the lcd face plate and there are some choices of what ticker I want streaming across the front, news sports and there is a physical knob on the front with some buttons I get a pretty fast scroll and some flicker but havent given much more time to investigate prefs or options monochrome lcd yesterday's sports but about 7 choices of genre.

Cons: I spent a fair amt of time on this and i did enjoy all that, not real frustrating and it does work though it seems to make some jobs a little harder. the built in track button has or I have very little accuracy hitting the mark easily lots of pointer dancing around, significant learning curve just trying to remember yet one more remote's idiosyncrasies or special lay out on the remote. lots of buttons i have to program and the time doing it and then trying to remember which is which is only off set slightly bu being ab le to import some set up keys from another remote. I , also, can barely see/read the lcd screen when I am far enough away to need the remote which can be made even worse at angles and certain lighting situations.

Other Thoughts: I got pretty frustrated at first having spent the time re arranging the bays so i could put this thing on top where it seemed to make more sense and i could see it easier then not be able to get the appropriate drivers to download, so I do need to apologize in that with some patience, it did finally download and was interesting, whether it is worth it is personal. I see it as a niche product that i havent room for, it takes up 2 full bays and is all front plate and it is the most carefully boxed and packed item i have seen since before Styrofoam and that was in there too to reinforce folding and fitting akin to origami swans. I know I will use it for a bit but dont know about the long term relationship. there is that learning curve and a number of new keys to remember but I do like it i just might not have the patience or skills to use it and it certainly deserved more than one egg so i gave it 3 and use a wireless mouse too and it will be more accurate in its movement & aim.

1 out of 5 eggsNobody Home?

Pros: makes the arrow shoot across the screen and fills up 2 bays with a lcd screen that glows all the time if connected according to instructions. is usb so you need a header with an open spot or run 3 or 4' of cable out the back and pllug in. does look as if it will do something great very ergonomic yet an understated sense of functionality but it is like the original sets on Star Trek just a bunch of blinking lights.

Cons: Wont do much for me, software will not run and there was no place to get a download all sites led me to dead ends. page not found or forums with the last pose over 6 months ago , a year ago. locked . very frustrating. It was to be no walk in the park even if the software did choose to open on my set up lots of things but idiosyncratic, not particularly intuititve. plenty of looking. no doubt the reason for the fire sale prices.
I did not try in in the other computer with vista though the newest version is supposed to support win7 64 I just couldnt get directed to a live site. maybe tomorrow. unless i take it out. It has a very difficult to read lcd maybe if i had a desk top and could sit 2 feet from it and be at eye level, but then why would i want or need a remote?

Other Thoughts: A toy that did not work for me. too bad I had hopes. All it will do is light up and glow 1"x4" at mid calf height. wouldnt be able to read anyting if there were things there. I have the software but it wont load nice icons that just sit there looking back after i double clilck. and the nice up to date web site does pretty much the same or sends me to dead ends or dead links. "your download will begin in a few seconds" but it doesnt. I was dumb enough to wait much longer.
As i said, maybe it will all work out tomorrow, they were away for the weekend and back up tomorrow.
This is the first real loser I got from new egg, if i dont count the pixxio 4.1 plastic speakers that shut themselves off every few minutes playing or not. saves power, energy star speaker system.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Complete Multimedia Solution For Your PC

Pros: This product works great!I have not yet had any problems with it. I have the imedianHD program opened on my TV and i can easily select Media files with the remote. My computer replaced my DVD player...lol

Cons: The remote is a little picky and must me aimed directly at the front panel, but that's not too big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: This is awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I thought it would be, nothing extra though

Pros: Remote is a high quality build(nothing amazing, but better than almost every other remote I have)

LCD is a nice addition, displays some interesting stuff, like weather and news... nothing special here though either. Worth mentioning that it doesn't distract ME when watching movies... it might for some, depending on where your case is to the TV.

Does what it advertises, a nice remote with an included MediaCenter like software suite.

Works wonders with Windows 7 MediaCenter...so well, that I don't even care about the one con I listed. Really couldn't be more satisfied with this one. If you're not using Windows 7... well, there's no reason not to, the RC is FREE after all. TRY IT!

Really adds flair to the front of my PC.

Allows me to turn off the computer with the remote(this feature is worth a lot for me since my PC is in a hard to reach placement, definitely placing this combo above other MCE remotes IMO)

Cons: As of this review, there is no Blu-Ray support for the included software(Imon HD)... even with latest updates.

Other Thoughts: This wouldn't have gotten 5 eggs if it was the original price around $130-150... since it's on clearance here, it's a much nicer piece of hardware to help close the gap between an existing PC and an HTPC(as long as you have the extra bays open).

The install definitely isn't meant for people with lower understanding of the insides of their PC's... but for anyone who puts them together from scratch should have no problem at all.

The software definitely has more potential than it uses... too bad really.

Don't expect great things from the LCD, it's not much different than a VFD screen.

Overall, don't expect anything amazing from this remote, and do your homework... this is definitely not for people who would be perfectly happy with a $25 MCE remote, but for those of us that want a little bit more(higher quality controller, and a bit of HTPC flair :D )

5 out of 5 eggssoftware update

Pros: I wrote a review earlier complaining about the software, I want to rescind that. They have since put out updates that have made it much better. I still don't use the "Imon HD," the program that came with it. I use other software to play movies etc.

Cons: The remote still seems a bit buggy. When you use the "mouse" sometimes it acts like you pushed a mouse button.

Other Thoughts: The updates have made a world of difference. It now plays nice with Itunes, as well as wmc.

3 out of 5 eggsNIce hardware, software blows

Pros: The concept is great. The remote is nice, everything hardware is actually pretty nice.

Cons: Man does the software SUCK. The imon HD is ok, but the imon software, as well as the drivers for the hardware, is terrible. no support on the company website, just a link to the manual.

Other Thoughts: This is a great idea, and it has a lot of potential. Once again, a great device is screwd by lack of support.

4 out of 5 eggsJust getting started

Pros: Although I'm still working with this component, I really like what I've seen so far. There is alot to this little gadget and I hope to fully understand everything it can do soon. I certainly like what I've been able to do with it so far and I feel it will continue to be at the core of my HTPC's functionality. I really like the iMedian software bundled with the unit. Easy install. Nice remote.

Cons: Unit does not sit flush with the front of my case. It sticks out about 1/8". I don't know if it is possible, but I wish there was some other sort of data transfer connection besides the USB 2 it currently uses. True, it is possible to use either a USB header connection or an external USB 2 connection, but my headers are already occupied and who wants a cable comming out of the interrior of the case to plug into an exterrior USB port? This is an internal device! Not wanting to give up a precious USB header to this thing I ran the USB 2 cable out of a pre-drilled water cooling hole in my case to plug into the external port.

Other Thoughts: Not being one of the "high understanding" tech guys I'm not sure if this device could transfer data over some other type of cable (SATA? I dunno.), but that would be cool. I still like the product and would buy it again.
