Vantech's Tornado TD8038H 80mm black case fan is a powerful cooling solution for today's desktop computers. The dual ball-bearing design extends the life span of the fan and keeps it spinning at 5,700rpm. It easily installs in a wide variety of desktop cases and yet is capable of pushing more than three times the air than a standard 80mm case fan—whether it's used to pull cool air into your system or push hot air out.

The fan can connect to your motherboard's standard 3-pin fan connector for power or the optional 4-pin cable allows you to connect this fan to your power supply. Perfect for gamers and overclockers, the Vantec Tornado Case Fan is a no-compromise solution to overheated computer woes.

  • newegg High Performance Operating at 5700 RPM, this 80mm fan delivers an air flow of up to 84.1 CFM for near peerless heat dissipation!
  • newegg Custom-Made Cable for Fan RPM Detection With the custom-made fan RPM detection cable, monitor fan spindle speeds in the motherboard BIOS and system health software.

5 out of 5 eggsTORNADO WINDS AND VACUUM SOUNDS

Pros: One of the best 80mm fans I have ever owned, when wanting strong, high pressure cooling for a computer. I say again, not just high speed, but, high blowing pressure, and powerful cooling capability. Pack a case full of these and set some OC records.

Cons: NOT really a con, but.... Thicker than normal 80mm case fans. I sadly could not fit in a few places I wanted to use it, due to thickness.

If you put in a computer that is located in a quiet room/area, be ready for the vacuum cleaner / jet fighter-like sound it makes. I was aware of the sound up front, so not an issue for me.

Other Thoughts: Be careful if you have anything lose, or, that could get loose in your case. I thought I had other case fan cables secure, and this thing blew them loose, just to show you what kind of strength this fan has!!

3 out of 5 eggsLOUD! But still going strong

Pros: Long lasting--- bought 9/18/2011 still works as of today 7/1/2014

Cons: SO LOUD it gets old after a few weeks!

Other Thoughts: Bought fan Sept 2011 and have been using it ever since (today is 7/1/2014) But after having this fan for so long I can't take the loudness of it anymore! Now that I have a newborn I need to hear her in the bedroom right next to my computer room so the fan has got to go!

3 out of 5 eggsToo loud even for industry

Pros: Moves a lot of air.

Cons: Too loud.

Other Thoughts: Thought it would be OK since we were installing in rack mount systems in loud industrial lab areas but they are too loud even for that. They are louder than nearby cooling compressors and can be heard several rooms away (with doors open).

3 out of 5 eggsToo loud to use

Pros: Definitely moves a lot of air - if that's all you need then go for it.

Cons: It is WAY too loud to use in a personal computer. Originally mine was installed in the back of a case which was being used in an entertainment cabinet - even that didn't dull the noise down enough to use.

Other Thoughts: Would be great in a server or tucked away in an used room.

4 out of 5 eggsInsanely loud

Pros: It moves a heck of a lot of air

Cons: So loud I'm wondering about tempering it with a fan controller.

Other Thoughts: The noise has a resonating quality that's not very pleasant. Maybe that's because I have two of them next to each other in a server case (which fortunately I can walk away from).

At 10W each, I'm going to need to carefully consider what fan controller to get.

5 out of 5 eggsSecure all items around this fan.

Pros: If you've read the details, you can definitely see that these fans move a LOT of air, I don't doubt the listed number at all.
I saw reviews from folks saying the plastic was brittle, but did not run in to that issue when installing or removing them.

Cons: I was slightly let down that the fan did not power on when plugged in to the fan connector on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: NOTE TO POTENTIAL BUYERS:
Know your decibel levels before you buy these, yes they are loud, much much louder than a normal case fan.
A vaccuum cleaner is approx 68 decibels, these run at 55...let that sink in.

4 out of 5 eggsReal Deal

Pros: If you are making decisions on fans, forget about comparing CFM ratings. A 2,000 RPM 120mm fan will not be anywhere close to this monster. I have both the 93mm and the 80mm and the 80mm actually seems to blow more.
Mounted on the side of the case and pointed at the center of the motherboard you will see 20c drops in cpu and motherboard temps. Cheaper than buying a fancy cpu cooler...
That said these are being used in a garage for a couple of rendering machines. Don't plan on putting this in your bedroom unless you are deaf or planning on becoming deaf.

Cons: I know almost every review has stated this... but people aren't exaggerating about how loud these are. Really!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan for Industrial Enviorments

Pros: Amazing fan for HIGH heat environments, it puts through the amount of air advertised. Excellent Product, no problems even when working in a high dust environment

Cons: Its very noisy, not a problem for where its at here but I am sure others would feel its too loud.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: dang thing has guts. ive had 2 of these running in seperate computers since 2005 and they just keep chugging while all my other fans drop like flies

Cons: noise

Other Thoughts: got this fan in 2005 for a case fan, most recent hs can take 2 80mm case fans... put this fan as a push fan in a push/pull config.. pull fan just died, the tornado saved the cpu due to its sheer power
