The RA-VGA-DVI-D adapter unfortunately does not do the conversion of digital to analog but it is simply an adapter to use a VGA monitor on a DVI-D connector if the signal has already been converted either by the video graphics card or converter box.

Cons: bought it to connect my second 19" AOC monitor. the computer recognized that the monitor was there but the screen would say no signal and go right to sleep.

Pros: - Probably works.

Cons: - Larger form factor than what was anticipated on the photos

Other Thoughts: I made the mistake of buying this to try and get a VGA-analog signal out to go into a DVI-d signal in, for a monitor that is digital only.

Be sure to check your monitor to see if it can handle an analog signal, if you are looking to try and force a VGA-analog signal into it.

Other Thoughts: tried using it to connect my second screen to my gtx 660 but it would not work after all attempts. Will definitely return.

Pros: A cheap price to pay to learn about analog vs digital.

Cons: It does not seem possible for this device to work the way anyone would want it to. Maybe there is another use I am unaware of, but it will not work for a VGA monitor.

Other Thoughts: You are probably buying this because the port you want to convert from does not have those pins above and below the bar-shaped pin. Those pins above and below the bar shaped pin are the analog pins, those pins are your VGA signal.

Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: It doesn't do what it says it will. The description of this product clearly reads "For Digital signal to Analog signal only". The problem is, apparently, it doesn't actually convert digital to analog -- rather, all this thing does is convert the pinout from one to the other. I'm not sure what good that can possibly do on its own.

Other Thoughts: I did contact the manufacturer and it took them 1 day to ship me a new adapter, and of course thanks to Newegg's quick shipping times it arrived quickly.

Apparently the device I was attempting to utilize this on, does NOT comprehend analog signals.
Therefore this was the INCORRECT adapter.
I needed an adapter that can do digital only, or both.

Therefore for anyone considering buying this product, please check your equipment before buying this item.

Other Thoughts: I have bought Rosewill products before and they've worked with no issues. I purchased this back in Oct 2012 and let it sit on my shelf (as I hadn't an immediate need to use it) I tested it tonight, and it didn't work. Upon inspecting it found the 2nd row has a pin that is set deeper into the plug from the rest of the pins!
I will update this review after conversing with Rosewill CSR.

Pros: Absolutely none

Cons: Shipping took over a week. The adapter I recieved is not the one in the picture, it is at least half an inch longer and does not appear to be constructed as well.

Also, it will not actually convert a DVI-D (or 24+1) signal to VGA. I don't why anyone would ever need a product like this, there is no for it to work without converting the signal.

Other Thoughts: What most people have purchased this adapter for is impossible. The manufacturer responses are a joke. Nothing can be done to assist anyone with their issue. This adapter will not do what it looks like it should do. Rosewill, don't you dare respond to this review unless you can actually offer me a way to convert my DVI-D output to VGA.
