Do the switches stay lit all the time, or only when each is turned on?

Each light stays on while its corrsponding outlet is switched on.  But the strip is poorly made, so the lights range from dim ro very dim, so you won't be bothered by them.  Nonethless, I kinda recommend it.

The exact space from "hot" blade for outlet number 1 to "neutral" blade for outlet number 2 is one inch...  These strips are not going to be terribly good for your application. I typically put the wall warts in every-other outlet but even some of them are oriented horizontally which can be ever worse.  There are one foot extension cords that can be used in situations like this - something else to buy....

I have a heater that will not run on a power strip and the company said that I need an appliance grade strip to let more power through it. Will this work?

Depends on the amperage of the heater.  Most electric heaters I know draw less than 15 amps.  This powerstrip is 14 gauge wire and can run 15 amp appliances.  But if you have 2 or 3 other power hungry devices plugged into the powerstrip as well as the heater, you might exceed 15 amps.  Plug the heater by itself into the powerstrip.  I bet it will be fine.

If you mean AC-DC transformers, small ones fit OK.  I have a couple old school transformers; they take up 2 spots each.  To compensate, I bought several powerstrips, considering price.

Yes. Two slots; can be attached to wall horizontally or vertically (or at an angle, come to think of it).

im seeking a power strip for an office with computers and space heaters.  I have a max 1500 watt heater, but i only use the 750 watt setting.  will this power strip prevent the circuit breaker from tripping?

This power strip will carry a full 15 Amps (1875 watts at 125V) and it has a 15 amp breaker to protect against overloads but, as another reviewer points out, it's not recommended that you plug a space heater (or any other high power appliance) into a power strip and fire regulations may forbid this also.  As for whether the circuit breaker on the power strip will trip before the one in the electrical closet, my experience is that power strips tend to be quicker to respond and will probably trip first.  This can save a trip into the basement or a call to "Facilities" if you're in an office building.

This question should be addressed to Newegg or the manufacturer...  As far as I know, this is a power strip - not a surge protector.  I am using it behind a surge protector.
