3 out of 5 eggsMy first RMA

Pros: Worked great out of the box. After a couple hard drives appeared to be toasted I used another device to verify that the adapter was the actual problem. About to print the RMA lable, With return shipping of $+11 I am wondering about real value here... As in another post I read, all of my trouble was with IDE devices.

Cons: Besides the obvious RMA turn-around time, any adapter without an enclosure can be a corded rats-nest this one is no acceptation. Stiff cables and bulky transformer can be irritating in a small work area.

Other Thoughts: I will give it another try but with the cost of shipping it back this will be a one time only proposition. If it can opperate for a year of light use the same as it did out of the box, this thing will be well worth it.

2 out of 5 eggsHalf Works

Pros: Works great with SATA drives

Cons: Can't get it to work with 3.5" PATA drives. Tried multiple PATA drives on different host OSes and machines. No Dice.

2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work in Windows 8

Pros: Fast transfer rates

Cons: Randomly disconnects and data transfers fail, it also shows up as "Unrecognised Device" in Windows 8.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works as should. Got the adapters for all hard drive types. Only have used it for an old 2.5" IDE drive and worked great

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Weird this is discontinued considering I just bought it 2 weeks ago haha

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to hook up.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Much quicker and easier than installing a drive into an external enclosure. I use it to recover data from dead drives. Works excellent!

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with Win 8

Pros: Works well with my wife's Win 7 laptop. She unfortunately does not have USB 3.0 so I can't take advantage of the main feature.

Cons: SATA data cable had bent and misaligned pins. Fortunately the disk plugged nicely into the adapter. Does not work any better than the other methods I tried to connect an IDE drive salvaged from my old computer to my new one running Win 8.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had read the software requirements a little more carefully. Tonight I download 190GB of data files to my wife's laptop, and tomorrow night I upload from my wife's laptop to a SATA drive that will work with the new computer.

1 out of 5 eggsbulky, unusable for IDE drives

Pros: Works fairly well for SATA drives, but is still very bulky and awkward.

Cons: The size of the adapter box for both 2.5" and 3.5" IDE connections obscures the power plug by about 2mm for IDE drives, making this product useless for IDE drives.

5 out of 5 eggsNice update from previous version

Pros: Works well, though I didn't try USB3.0 transfers.

This new version features some nice design improvements from the original 2.0 version. The pc connector cable is now thick and permanently attached to the connector head, so its much tougher to break. I also like the SATA/IDA switch, so there is less of a chance of interference.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsMake's external hardrives easy to use without a dock.

Pros: -IDE/Sata
-USB3.0

Cons: - Can be a little tricky to set up especially with all the cables.

Other Thoughts: I got this, so I could easily use some hard drives I had laying around. It's USB3.0 and I've been able to get sequential reads and writes of 60MBps. I'm not sure how it does on random access though.

I've been using this as a way to record video to another harddrive other and my laptop's main one and it's worked flawlessly for me.
