Pros: It's small, it's cheap and it works for me. I bought two and they both came with a cable.
Cons: I tried a few things before this worked for me. The solution was that I did not use the splitter that came with this IDE to SATA adapter. I connected the large 4 pin connecter from my power supply to the hd and a small 4 pin connecter from my power supply to the this IDE to SATA adapter. Also, I put a jumper on the hard drive in the master position. NO INSTRUCTIONS CAME WITH THIS DEVICE. I found no instructions on the manufacturer's website.
Other Thoughts: The way that my hard drive is designed some of the solder points on this adapter would have come in contact with the metal frame of the hard drive. I had to cover the metal before installing this adapter.

Pros: None.
Cons: Does not work. No instructions in the box, on the box, or on the manufacturer's web site. I tried to use it on an IDE DVD burner and an 250 gig IDE HD. PC could not detect either device using this adapter. I also tried all jumper settings on the IDE devices.
It just doesn't work.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time with this item.

Don't use it backwards!

Pros: Designed to connect an IDE HD or CD-ROM to a SATA port on a motherboard or SATA card. This is NOT for connecting a SATA drive to an IDE motherboard. Almost every bad review I see here is trying to use it backwards. Additionally the device can not make something better than the SATA port it is connected to. This supports 48bit LBA, but if the SATA port on the motherboard does not, you are still limited to 137GB.
Cons: From what others say the instructions are pretty much useless.
Other Thoughts: I don't own this but am trying to help people understand what it can and cannot do.
To the guy with the iMac, you would probably be better off booting from a firewire external enclosure if it has firewire, or just using a 120GB IDE drive.
