1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work

Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: I purchased this to replace a damaged cord used for video capture. After struggling for several hours with random disconnects between the device and software, I isolated the problem to the cord. I replaced the new cord with my old DAMAGED cord, and my disconnect problem ended. The damaged cord worked better than the new one. Bad cord.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry for the inconvenience that this firewire cord has caused you.

We would recommend you complete our RMA form for a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cable

Pros: Cost. The cable works as expected - the finish quality is nice and the ends plug in without any problem.

It transfers digital video without a hitch.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The same type cable at my local retail establishment costs 7 time more, even with shipping from Newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: none

Cons: It doesn't work. My computer wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in (on either of my two firewire ports)! I could jiggle it and you would hear my computer recognized it for an instant but it would never make a full connection.

Yeah, it was inexpensive but it was also very cheap!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

The problem might be your computer does not recognize the device you are connecting. Please try the cable with a different device. All of our products come with at least 3 years warranty. Please don't hesitate to contact us at support-us@syba.com if you have any problem or question.

Regards,
Syba Customer Service

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great for the price. I just wanted it for an external hard drive and didn't need anything expensive. It's hard to find cheap cables nowdays that are durable. I'd say this is durable. The connectors and cable are sufficient for normal use.

Cons: May not be suitable for someone who is going to give it a lot of rugged use (but at this price there's not much risk involved if it shorts out after a few years).

Other Thoughts: It's a reliable cable, it's cheap and unless you plan on giving it a lot of wear and tear I'd say it should last under normal circumstances.
