1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: None, that I know of.

Cons: Didn't work for an old DOS board I was trying to use in a CNC machine.

Total lack of detailed documentation, and poor support web site.

Other Thoughts: Tried this in a "not so old" PC as well, not recognized.

1 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with most CF cards

Pros: Supports SDHC.

Cons: Does not support most CF cards (offically only tested/supports Kingston and Sandisk, accoring to Syba tech support).

Other Thoughts: The first one was bad, but newegg replaced very quickly. The second one appears to be good (it works with all my SD cards), however, it did not work with my Trancend 4GB CF card. Despite claiming to support the compact flash standards, after emailing Syba tech support they told me to get a new CF card and that I should stick with Kingston or Sandisk. There is nothing wrong the Trancend card as it works in _every_ other CF reader I can find and at the full 266x speed (or close to it).

If you are looking for an SD to IDE adapter this could work, but if you (like me) wanted CF to IDE, look else where.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works with a 1gb ADATA flash with no problems.

Cons: First, there is absolutely no documentation with the device, or on their site. Currently waiting for their "support" to get back to me, but I haven't even received an automated response to say they received my e-mail.
Second, it doesn't work with my 32gb ADATA compact flash card. This could be because there is a lack of documentation (ie. I've exceeded the supported size of the device), or it could be because of a faulty device. But there is no way to tell the difference.

Other Thoughts: I bought from Syba because I did not see any alternatives. However, if this is the level of support (and documentation) that they will continue to provide, I will not be buying anymore of their products.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great!

Pros: I used this with an A-DATA Speedy 1G SD flash card (from as well) in my m0n0wall embedded firewall. This adapter worked out great.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Mounting this was a little tricky, good thing it was just an old PII laying around.
