SYBA SD-CM-UAUD71 USB Sound Adapter

Pros: -no drivers needed. 100% plug n play

Cons: software CD freezes on my PC for some off reason.

Pros: No drivers needed for XP or Win7.
Works almost instantly.

Cons: Distortion when USB bus has a bunch of other devices being shared with device.

Lack of drivers also means manufacturer is unable to resolve compatibility issues, like above.

Volume buttons are pretty much useless.

Other Thoughts: Ran back and forth with support on resolving my issue, which turned out to be related to my system having too many USB devices.

They were helpful but did not take responsibility in the fact that it is a hardware/design issue on their part, not my system.

When I first plugged it in, it was working. As soon as I added more USB devices to my system, it caused audio to start distort. After a bunch of troubleshooting I found that if I had more than a few devices plugged into my USB bus, this problem would occur.

It wasn't a conflict with a specific one either, which I initially thought.

I also found through USBView tool that the device only runs at USB1.1 speeds even when plugged into a USB2.0 high speed capable port.

Pros: Works without installing any drivers (Win 7 x64)

Cons: Without installing drivers, the volume control is not very precise, but it works.

Pros: Excellent audio adapter. I mainly use this for my headphones and it works! Love the integrated audio buttons for quickly adjusting the volume. I like the flashing lights which blinks when there is audio going out the speakers/headphones. Sound is great! Smaller than what you see on the images. Works with expansion USB cable, on a powered 7-USB 2.0 hub. Works with Windows 7!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent product if you're looking a cheap adapter to use your headphones/speakers

Pros: I'm guessing lots of you will be using this for the PS3, and I'll tell you "h'wat", it works. Hooked it up to my ps3, changed audio settings and ta-da it works like a charm.

Cons: It stopped working after a while, lol...

Pros: Purchased along with an Asus WL-520GU to assemble a WiFi radio (Google "mightyohm wifi radio" for info).
Works fine in that configuration.
OpenWrt supports this chipset.

Cons: OpenWrt doesn't seem to recognize the volume or mute buttons; only a minor quibble.

Other Thoughts: For simple USB audio output, this can't be beat.

Pros: worked with out drivers and sounds good for a cheap price

Cons: none

Pros: Works superbly well.
Plug'n'Play.

Other Thoughts: I needed a hardware fix for my Hackintosh's mysteriously missing output device and this did the job. I just plugged it in and OS X did the rest. Went and checked the sound panel and it was already listed as the output/input so i fired up itunes and all was REALLY well. I'm very happy with this inexpensive product that will let me get the most out of my Hackintosh build.

Pros: this works like a charm. my laptop's audio jack did not work so i got this as a solution it works great. i read the instructions and it says to install the driver disk if you have vista and i have vista and didn't install any drivers it got them when i first plugged it in. small about a inch and a half it sticks out of the computer .

Cons: nothing at the moment. just don't hit it off anything if you walk around with a laptop.

Other Thoughts: my head phones have a lot of bass in them and i have my computers sound set to 10% out of 100% and its still load good thing my head phones have a sound settings on them.
all the buttons work on the usb.

Pros: Cheap and easy to install. Plug and play. It works through all OS upgrades.

Cons: 2 channel out only. Not an issue unless you want 5.1 surround from your PC. In that case, get a different sound solution.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a hacintosh. The onboard sound would quit working every time there was an OS update. This is a very good solution to that issue. Plugged it in and it worked with no driver install. Just select the device in system prefs.
