Is this powered, so I can charge an old iPod Classic 3rd gen off it? Computer: Inspiron e1705

I'm not sure if this is used to connect a smart device to for charging. I use this to connect my 8-pin firewire cord to a 6-pin input. It's not like a USB port, which multiplies the number of inputs, if that's what you're thinking about - I know some of these are powered. But the item above is just an adapter and needs no power. Hope this helps.
