Hello, does this product clone the output to two displays or can it allow one DVI output to extend across two VGA displays?

I tried it many different ways and I was only able to clone the displays. NOT extend. I would recommend buying one that actually splits into 2 separate cords.

would this allow me to use the 2 monitors side by side (in a non-mirrored arrangement)? I have a dell precision T3610 and inherited two old dell monitors.

Unfortunately, no. This particular device is used to mirror one monitor to a secondary monitor. This setup is typically used in cases where an insured comes into their Insurance Agent's office, and the Agent works up the details on his/her computer, allowing the insured to see everything the Agent is doing, without needing to walk around his/her desk.
