- Pros: Haven't had any problems. Drivers seem to work well.
- Cons: Not really a con, but I guess the cable length could be a little better.
- Other Thoughts: I'm using this adapter in a router configuration class. There were not enough computers, so I bought this and now use my laptop to configure Cisco 2600 series routers. The cable length doesn't really bother me since I'm using a serial rollover cable in addition. The drivers seem to be bound to only one USB port, however. If I try using any of the other USB ports, even after restarting the laptop, I get a "cannot open COM3 port" error when I try connecting with Hyperterminal. If I use the specific USB port, it connects with no problem.
- Pros: Inexpensive, works as advertised
- Cons: None observed
- Other Thoughts: I am using this to reprogram the alarm panel on my house through the alarm's serial interface. I am connecting it to my laptop running Windows XP, and I didn't have any issues installing the driver or communicating with the alarm panel.
- Pros: Got just what I expected, works simply and very well. Driver provided was simple and quick on install.
- Cons: none!
