5 out of 5 eggsMy first newegg review ever and on a Great piece of hardware

Pros: Helps reduce Projector flickering!

I have looked for ages on the cause of projector flickering (Infocus in this case). I hope this review finds someone on Google who is looking for a choice answer to this problem.

Some causes of Projector flicker are:
- Old bulb,
- Compromised cooling
or new bulb, and voltage regulation.

I had a fairly new bulb having flicker at peak hours and was looking for a solution. I had read the well known trick on av forums on switching from Low power to High power in settings and back.
This worked for the most part, but did not correct the root cause of the flicker, which I deduced had to be due to current fluctuation and lack of voltage regulation.

I looked into Voltage regulation products finally, and came along those in the 900 to 1000 dollar range that were designed for high end home theatre systems. While those might have been ideal, they did not meet my price point.

I decided to give this $16 product a try, and boy did my flicker go

Cons: First the positives:
- on low power and high power now, I see have no where near the amount of flicker I used too.
- Google chrome is notorious for causing flicker, as awesome as it is as a program. I have noticed this too on an older laptop running Chrome, vs no flicker in other instances when it was not running.
Currently when running Chrome right now, I noticed the most flicker.

With this regulator, I have resolved my flicker to near 90%. There is such a mild flicker left, on the low (projector) power setting currently, that it is barely noticable, and only apparent on low power, but not high power.
When chrome is not running, there is no flicker.
I'm not trying to fault Chrome here, but it does produce the flicker artifact more than any other situation. So using it as a benchmark for flicker, I had 30-40% flicker before, and 5-10% now. Thats only at certain hours of day as well, or if other big appliances are running.

Bottom line: Buy this product if you have projector

Other Thoughts: I have bought products in the past from and
Some of these pieces were hardware umpteens time the price of this regulator. I've never been inspired to write a review before as much as I have about this one gizmo.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as Desinged

Pros: When there is a unstable current this can adjust the margin of electricity to bring it to safe levels also regulates the power coming back from a appliance

had 3 for over 2 years and all still work and never had a issue even when on a heavy power load

Cons: this is not a Battery backup and not for major power fluctuations

Other Thoughts: think of what you need when you buy this item it is not a power strip and it not a battery backup this is a voltage regulator that means it adjust the voltage running though it so that it is clean power and a steady current when the input current is unstable

1 out of 5 eggsBought it to solve a speaker problem, it made it worse

Pros: At this point, I can't think of any.

Cons: My speaker system cuts out whenever someone flips a lightswitch. I need a voltage regulator, right?

Well, clearly I need some OTHER voltage regulator. Not only did this thing not solve my problem, it actually made the cut-outs last longer.
