5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works well, powers external 2.5" SATA drives just fine.
When using this cable with a laptop, make sure the drive doesn't require 12V.

Cons: Cable is only 18" long, not 36"

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Fits perfectly into the powered esata port. Solid connection to the drive. Supplies power to external sata drives just fine. Transfer speeds look good.

Cons: The cable is a bit stiff, no big deal.

Other Thoughts: People need to actually do some research before buying stuff.

2 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: I can connect my SATA drive to my laptop with this cable

Cons: If the port on the PC is not a eSATA+USB combo port, the cable will not power the drive connected to the other end of it. I got the cable to use at work with an SSD but by the looks of things my pc at work does not have a combo port :-(.

Other Thoughts: I gave only 2 eggs because the eSATA side of the cable got to me damaged. One of the key indentations on the connector was broken. I know it's only a piece of plastic but still... now I have to live with a damaged cable because an exchange and return is a bigger hassle then just using it this way.

1 out of 5 eggsdoesn't work with usb port

Pros: -

Cons: I ordered this cable to connect my sata hdd externally to my old laptop. It says usb/esata to sata. I thought "/" ment "or". Turns out it only plugs in a esata port and doesn't work with a regular usb port. I wish the description would be more specific.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Cheap!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have been testing this cable with my ThinkPad W520 and a variety of Sata II and Sata III HDD and SSD drives. I'm really surprised at how well it works.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I wanted

Pros: Cable is no where near 36" long. It's 18" at most. That's good for me as I use it with my notebook. The cable itself is flexible enough. It could be even softer but it isn't too stiff.

Cons: It's advertised as 36" and while I was happier that it was shorter others may not be.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple. Works great.

Pros: * Simple, single cable solution for those with an eSATAp port
* Seems durable, well-made

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The cable I received was actually 18" inches, but that was actually what I wanted originally. Must be a new feature of newegg.com... mind reading.

5 out of 5 eggsProblem Solver

Pros: True plug & play. Plugged in to old laptop HDD, connected to new laptop USB/eSATA port; immediately recognized drive; data transferred without error; about 50GB in 30 minutes.

Cons: None found yet.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Mac OSX Snow Leopard corrupt system files on the drive containing the OS (No surprise there). Didn't want to send the drive in to Apple. Purchased this product to transfer all that I could (which ended up being almost everything) to my Windows machine. It chugged away through the afternoon and evening as it successfully transferred over 100GB of data. Everything arrived on my PC just fine and dandy. Also, it takes up little space and is a great alternative to an hdd dock when you're doing what I did.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I'll probably end up using it again in the future, and at this price, it's something I probably should have bought beforehand just in case. Good to have around.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks on my Dell eE6500

Pros: I wasn't sure if this was going to work on my Dell Latitude E6500 but I took a chance anyway and it does. This beats carrying around the Thermaltake BlacX that I have as well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The Latitude E6500 has a combo ESata / USB port and I guess that is where the power is drawn from. I only hooked up a 2.5" notebook drive, I don't think I would try a full size 3.5" drive.
