1 out of 5 eggsnothing!!!!

Pros: none come to mind

Cons: tried every combination of jumpers, ports, controller settings and nothing.

Other Thoughts: seems to be a recurring issue. Also my item didn't look the same as the sample (no LED light and board was red).

5 out of 5 eggsNot all Sata drive work

Pros: It works well if you know what you are doing. I have bought these for years. I like to put SSD on them. It still amazes me when you make a old machine move like lighting. You have to remember Master/Slave and Cable select.

Cons: Not all sata controllers can handle anything less than 3 gig or 1.5 gig per second. IDE at most move at different speeds ATA-4, Ultra ATA/33, ATA-5, Ultra ATA/66, ATA-6, Ultra ATA/100, ATA-7, Ultra ATA/133 Your bios has to recognize the hard drive and its capacity. Updating the Bios might help but only if it can be.

Other Thoughts: Most reviews of this product I assume come from novice computer people. I used to buy these by the bag load. I have had only two bad ones and they were packaging snafu. If you don't have the time to figure out if your sata drive will work buy a PCI sata controller instead. Just sayin'

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None.

Cons: Did not work and I tried resetting jumpers, but nothing worked. This is reversible and should of worked.

Other Thoughts: Spend the money and get something that works. It is almost cheaper just to buy a sata peripheral than adapter.

1 out of 5 eggsDead. No signs of life. RMA

Pros: None.

Cons: It was dead. Time and money wasted to return.

Other Thoughts: I should've listened to all the other negative comments on this worthless junk.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of Junk

Pros: easy connectors

Cons: Never worked purchased two of them to use 2 existing IDE DVD Drives connect to a SATA connector on a new Motherboard and they never worked was a waste of time and money would have been easier just replacing the drives with SATA connected DVD burners

Other Thoughts: Yes they should be throuroughly tested

4 out of 5 eggsWorks but no manual

Pros: Works... No drivers just works

Cons: No Manual.

Other Thoughts: For IDE to SATA (IDE drive into SATA motherboard) You need to use SATA port nearest the LED. I have not used it for SATA to IDE. My boot disk lives on this adapter and I have had 0 problems.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: 0

Cons: I got two of these because of the price, they are advertised to work both ways SATA to IDE / IDE to SATA. Wrong, they (I tried both of them) don't work either way. DON'T BUY THIS!!!

Other Thoughts: Just sayin there is no free lunch.
