4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board for simple builds

Pros: I've had this mobo and cpu combo for about a year and i don't have to many complaints about it. Its reliable (With good ram of course, make sure it is compatible on the Biostar website) doesn't get very hot and it is very small. There isn't much to it. you can run dual channel DDR2 ram on it and one graphics card (I have mine loaded up with a Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 and it rocks) and one card of your choice, depending on how big your gpu is.

What is great about the combo is the cpu. It is a bit underpowered, but it runs well. I've overclocked mine to 2.5GHz. Any higher, even with an upgraded bios, and it won't boot.

Its good for low powered tasks or just a home pc.

Cons: CPU can suck at times because there is no L3 cache and it cant be overclocked past 2.5GHz. Lack of Sata ports can be annoying.
THE FAN IT COMES WITH IS JUNK, so get a new one

4 out of 5 eggs1 Thing

Pros: Killer Price, Excellent Speed, Dual Core

Cons: The Heatsink Fan Starts to make a lot of noise after about a month of use. I have bought 4 of these combo kits and they are all doing it. Only during start up from cold

Other Thoughts: If you are buying these kits for customers i recommend replacing the Heatsink and fan with a better one.

4 out of 5 eggsBiostar BIOSTAR COMBO6B22 AMD Sempron X2 2200

Pros: This is now my backup and test rig. Very good value, upgradeable cpu, the dual core Sempron is surprisingly good. Very good choice for a low cost or backup machine. Basically everything worked out of the box without any fussing.

Cons: Only two SATA ports, a poor design choice. Not a deal killer, but it can be an inconvenience.

Other Thoughts: I'm using PCLinuxOS and Linux Mint, so I haven't used the driver disc.

5 out of 5 eggs2.7Ghz simple

Pros: This combo is cheap and effective. cpu vid increase 2 clicks.
chip +2 clicks bus speed 270. I have the cheapest ram that newegg sells and Im priming @2.7 Ghz with the cheap heatsink that comes with this combo. Its 61c right now and runs great. Im sure that it will go higher. I tried 3 Ghz, but it would not boot. Im sure that if I increased the voltage a little more it would work.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Did not even try the driver disk. Windows 7 recognized everything and loaded "its" drivers. So I didnt argue. Works fantastic and is a LOT snappier than you would think for a sempron. I used to have a 754 sempron that was SLOW. But this one is GREAT. I like it.

5 out of 5 eggsBargain Dual Core

Pros: Biostar Motherboard excellent quality and easy installation. Lower end Sempron Dual Core CPU + Heatsink/Fan + Motherboard is a bargain at the price.

Cons: Had an issue with IDE controller initially. DVD-RW Master IDE and 160GB HD Slave IDE. System would boot and reboot over and over. Jumpers correctly set to master/slave. Fixed this by keeping DVD-RW as master and installing 300GB SATA drive instead.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad upgrade from my AMD Athlon XP2800+ single core to this Dual Core which benchmarks far better. Even though Sempron is the equivilent to Intels Celeron product line, the Dual Cores make up the performance and this system screams with XP Pro Sp3 and 1.5GB Ram and 128MB Radeon X1050 PCI-E 16x video card.

5 out of 5 eggsnice for HTPC

Pros: Got this setup to upgrade an old Athlon 64 3400+ (socket 754) setup I was using for my HTPC. Got this mobo/cpu along with 2Gb ram and a 8400GS silent vid card. Reused SATA HDD and DVDrw drives & 500w PSU. Runs Win 7 great. Has a little upgrade potential (triple /quad core CPU, 2 more GB ram), should run as my HTPC for a couple years.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: $150 for mobo/cpu/memory/video card. Replaces a setup I've had for 5 years. If I get a few years out of this (and I can put my X3-720BE in in it when I upgrade my main rig), it's a good bargain.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcellent Value

Pros: Outstanding value for the price. Dual core performance on a fresh XP install....can't complain. Nice overclocking options.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This makes an excellent choice for the building block for a budget system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: I have purchased four of these boards - they are solid and have some rather nice features in the BIOS for overclocking and such. The Sempron CPU is rather nice for the price - I can run my work Virtual Machine (XP Pro), Watch a Movie and still surf the internet with no impact to each of other. System only sees 3gig of RAM with 32bit OS - haven't tried 64bit yet. Runing Windows 7 Ultimate with no issues. System is very quiet and stable. Don't have a complaint to offer. I even put in a ATI HD 4650 PCIe card I had and it improves the system to run World of Warcraft (WoW) at 25fps with Shadow turned to low and eveything else to high - with Good setting in WoW I get 60fps everywhere at 1680x1050 rez.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Dual Core Performance

Pros: This makes for a great basic dual core computer. I am using them as workstation computers in a small office. They run pretty fast. Wprime scores come in at 43 seconds on this MB/CPU combo with 1 GB of memory. Very small motherboard, easy to install. I have purchased 4 now and have had no issues at all with any of them! I run Windows XP Pro on all of them.

Cons: These motherboards will only go down to 1.91 volts for memory. Be aware of this when you purchase them! I have put a couple sticks of 1.8 volt memory in one of them and it is still running, but I assume it will die soon. The motherboards are also a bit flimsy so becareful when installing in the case.

Other Thoughts: These have been decent boards. They are by no means the greatest quality or speed on the market although they have been stable and reliable. They are an excellent upgrade from an older single core system.
