Pros: Cheap board/cpu for computerization projects. Low Power. Low heat.

Cons: Not much as long as your not trying to build a game machine with it.

Other Thoughts: I made an LCD picture frame using Linux and my own modification to a LiveCD called Photo-ix. It pulls picture files over a wireless network from a Samba share and displays it on a 15" LCD screen. It cost me around $xxx to build. Way cool for Mom's birthday.

Great Little Board

Pros: This board is perfect for small computing projects. Small file servers or music server type things.

Cons: Its not a fire-breather. But ya get what ya pay for.

Other Thoughts: I used this thing to build a LCD picture viewer for my mum. Works great and its low power to boot.

Limited Graphics

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: Bought it to drive a slideshow on a 1600 x 1200 flat panel. Turns out the graphics won't go to that resolution.

Other Thoughts: Fortunately I had another machine with enough resolution and was able to swap. It works fine in the other application.

Powerful and Easy Setup

Pros: Extremely simple to install, fired up first time without a problem. Easily recognized the peripherals without any dinking in the bios. Bios settings easy to understand and Intel did a great job with the Atom processor. It is a delight to see this processor in action for just typical small business apps and the Internet. And simply WOW! Low profile and no bulky fan to be paranoid about; with more than ample space and extra case fans, I am sure that this will stay nice and cool. Board diagram was easy to read 'at a glance'. Peripheral connectors are not crammed together in one area. Good overall design of the board; definitely a good pairing with the processor. What was especially nice is being able to go into the Bios and set the maximum memory allotment for the video.

Cons: No PCI-e, but that is easily forgiven if the intent is to build a solid budget system that is used for a little number crunching and cruising the internet.

Other Thoughts: Ordered this to replace a dead mainboard at the office and for what seemed like a 'no frills' board with integrated video and processor, turned out to be one heck of a deal because for just every day nothing fancy type of work, this surely was a winner and I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for this kind of animal. Well worth the cost.

Nice board

Pros: For the price, this is an awesome board. Great for little project machines.

Uses DDR memory and ATA hard drives - anyone buying a board like this probably has a bunch of that old stuff lying around unused. Great way to utilize old parts.

Cons: No gigabit lan, no SATA headers, no raid... that means that no, this board would NOT be a good choice for a file server.

Other Thoughts: You really can't go wrong at 55 bucks. There are plenty of much better choices out there if you want to build a worthwhile media / file server though.
