5 out of 5 eggsHTPC

Pros: Works great as an HTPC running Ubuntu 11.04 and XBMC.
I was skeptical if an Atom would work playing DVD's; however, I find my setup is quite effective at playing DVD's and will tune OTA transmissions up to 720p. OTA of 1080i has troubles. The HDMI handles the 1280X720 variant fine on my Insignia LCD. If you are looking at DVD's then this board will work just fine. For Blu-Ray the GPU will bog down.
Great board overall.

Cons: As other reviewers have said the wireless is less than desirable. Purchase a reputable device and install yourself.

Other Thoughts: I have been running for 1.5 months with no trouble.

I wanted to play with the Hauppauge just to see if the set up could be utilized as a PVR. Jury is still out on this.

3 out of 5 eggsReview update

Pros: Price & feature set.

Cons: HDMI Port fried on me after about 9 months being my car PC. All other board features function fine.

Other Thoughts: Lots of sign up hoops at zotac.com, but RMA was handled efficiently. I Won't be reinstalling the RMA back into my CAR PC. I've instead opted for the new AMD Neo solution from Zotac. I'm going to give Zotec the benefit of the doubt on a new build because RMA was smooth and I've read of some issues with NM10 and HDMI independent of Zotac. Hope it helps!

3 out of 5 eggspoor wifi quality, and does not work with overscan TV

Pros: 1. silence: air-cool, w/o cpu fan.
2. gigabit NIC, and works good so far.
2. atom dual core gives decent performance for use.
3. two mem slot for 4gb.

Cons: 1. Wifi is NOT usable and notice it only have one antenna connected to the card, which have two connectors.

2. intel graphics can NOT do overscan compensation, which is needed by my projection 60" Mitshubishi.

3. intel graphics on HDMI only support upto 1366x768.

4. Trying to resolve the short comings with pcie cards, but system only have one pcie-1x slot, limited options and expensive 1x video cards available.

5. Trying to use as workstation instead. Only 2 SATA, very limited in storage. Really want additional SATA for a backup drive, addition to system and DVDROM.

note: 4. and 5. were known when I bought this thinking of using it for HTPC.

note: 2. and 3. are true of all intel graphics, except for the i-series and newer/better processor boards.

note: wish got the ION version, and not care of the extra CPU FAN.

Other Thoughts: ok production if
a. your TV does not need overscan.
b. not dependent on wifi builtin.
c. 720p for HTPC is not bad, 1080p is overrated.
d. definitely not going to use as workstation, as expansion is very limited.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work yet

Pros: Everything you need in one board, should be easy to set up.

Cons: According to the website, there are "tested memory" with this MB. Not sure if those are the ONLY ones you can use, but mine doesn't work...

Other Thoughts: I am assuming mine is DOA, so I did an RMA on the one I received. I tested 4 different modules of memories of various brands and configurations, but it won't post. Power light on the MB lights up, when you push the power button, the HDD spins up, but no boot or post. Hopefully new one will come and fix my issue.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with our product. ZOTAC has technical support available 24/7 to fully assist you in diagnosis and possible replacement if needed. The list of tested memory is not the only ones that can be used on this motherboard- just simply the ones the engineers has tested. For further clarification and specifics of compatible memory please contact our technical support at support@zotacusa.com.

1 out of 5 eggsLinux Users Beware

Pros: As a windows user, this board will provide but that is where the support ends.

Cons: It's better to research these boards and their intended use before purchasing. At this writing, there appears to be an issue with the GMA 3150 graphics and linux. After a rather exhaustive search, I haven't located much specifics. MeeGo 2.1 will install however access to CD is lacking due to the design of this O/S to install on a netbook. It's rumored that Ubuntu 11.04 will resolve this issue but it is still in alpha stages

Other Thoughts: This is my first purchase of Zotac products and the overall experience has been bittersweet. Between the RMA, finding a suitable linux operating system and the spotty technical support, I am thoroughly convinced to turn to more reputable vendors.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for multiple monitor setups.

Pros: Seems to have everything on board that you might need, at least on paper.

Cons: Most of the features that I based my decision to purchase this board on ended up not working. The HDMI port is flaky if it works at all, and the wireless is unusable, as seems to be the case with all of Zotac's MiniITX boards and their ZBox line of mini-computers. I tried multiple drivers (Intel and Zotac) and OSes, (XP and 7pro 32-bit). I was never able to get video through both video outputs with any sort of consistency or reliability.

Other Thoughts: With all of the options out there, Zotac should know that their name will be associated with junky products as long as they keep making junky products. I use the IONITX-A-U at home, and it's a wonderful piece of kit. As far as I'm concerned, you could take the WIFI and HDMI features off of this board, price it $50 less and you'd probably have a winner. As it stands now, I recommend that people look elsewhere if they need to use either of these features.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsNice little board, reasonable value

Pros: Low power, small footprint, quiet, and fast enough for use as a basic desktop. If your primary uses are e-mail, Office apps, and browsing this is a good choice. Vista system rating is 3.1, about the same as a Nvidia 6200 solution with an Athlon X2 3600, while drawing about half the power.

Cons: Not a speed demon, not great for high resolution media, but it will stream full screen HD --- though imperfectly. The HDMI output has limited resolution, but the VGA output will do 1080p. I have not been happy with the wireless card, but that may be environmental; you can replace it with better solutions if you need to.

Other Thoughts: If you need better high resolution video, consider this board with the ION option. Adding a Broadcom CrystalHD Mini-PCIe card helps some HD now, may help more as support improves.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Car PC

Pros: Well rounded all in one board for Car PC use. HDMI out and lots of usb ports.

Cons: Capacitors located right next to 20+4 pin made installing 'all-in-one' M3-ATX auto power supply impossible.

Other Thoughts: Built in WIFI works, but has poor reception with any antennae. I'm getting better results with my USB wifi adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great board, no problems on any of the 7 systems I've built using the Zontac NM10-A-E motherboard. Not a one of them has come back to me with any hardware issues. All running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Cons: Absolutely None.

Other Thoughts: Read the review from slngsht about this board's incompatibility with the Broadcom Crystal HD decoder and thought I'd give it a try. Worked perfectly, played Blu-rays without a hitch. As for the tiny screws, any computer repair shop will have them.

On board video works perfect, if you set it up right. Hint: Use the Intel video control panel, set to single monitor and select your monitor from the drop down menu.

NewEgg rocks, same low prices on almost all computer hardware as my local wholesale distributor.
