1 out of 5 eggsery bad unit

Pros: Inexpensive with multiple USB 2,0 ports

Cons: I did a rebuild of my desktop (Windows 7 64 bit) with a new motherboard, processor, and the Sabrent card. The system would not boot. After much trial and error I found out that the card was thew culprit. After I removed the card it booted quickly. I sent an email to Sabrent but no answer after a week.

1 out of 5 eggsNot the best at all.

Pros: I had problems getting this thing to work and be compatible with HP computer it was put in. Caused lot of other problems on system and hard drive. I finally stopped using it and went with other name brand.

Cons: Not a very reliable or not a good working item, needs to improve, would not recommend it to buy.

5 out of 5 eggsIF YOU NEED A USB 2.0 CARD BUY THIS ONE

Pros: I DO A LOT OF WORD PROCESSING AND I UTILIZE THREE PRINTERS, A APC UPS, AN EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVE, A DIGITAL CAMERA W/USB CHARGING STATION AND A FLASH DRIVE. MY MOBO WAS ERRATIC TO SAY THE LEAST MAINTAINING CONNECTIVITY. I INSTALLED THIS CARD AND IT HAS BEEN SMOOTH SAILING EVER SINCE. THE PRICE WAS CHEAP AND NEWEGG SHIPPED IT FAST.

Cons: NONE!

1 out of 5 eggsIt smokes - literally!

Pros: None.

Cons: Started smelling hot within an hour of install. Two of the back ports immediately quit working. Within about two weeks, the PC started smoking, and it was this card! All of the ports were fried. Took out the card and no more problems.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this card! Does not work!!!

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: Maybe it works under other operating systems?

Cons: I'm running windows 7 32 bit. The board can only uses one USB port at a time. Also it hits a max transfer rate of around 6 MB/s when transferring files. Cannot load Sabrent Drivers b/c they are not for windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Maybe a windows 7 driver update could fix the problem?

1 out of 5 eggsNot that great

Pros: Fast delivery and was easy to install in motherboard. Plenty of USB 2.0 plug openings, 4 outside and one inside. When working it was very good and fast.

Cons: Never did work properly even with installing the drivers using the CD that came with it. Kept turning up Code 10 and Code 12 errors on device manager. Kept having conflicts after installing drivers with CD that came in box. I would continually have to uninstall my hardware on device manager and then reinstall it to get it to work. When working the USB 2.0 was great and worked very fast but it should not have taken this much effort. Within 2-3 weeks my HP Pavilion 7955 completely crashed. Only got message on black screen saying "Operating system not found? press any key." Thus I do not know if this happened due to this Sabrent part or if the motherboard just finally was toast, but never had this problem or problems with added hardware until using this Sabrent USB 2.0 card.

Other Thoughts: This Sabrent card probably works well with certain models of computers and is great, but for whatever reasons, I did not have good results at all, this was on a Home Edition Windows XP and HP desktop Pavilion 7955, so not sure if it was my computer just finally being worn out and toast or if it was a result of this Sabrent card, cause never had the issues I had until after installing it.

5 out of 5 eggsSABRENT 5 Port USB 2.0 PCI Card

Pros: Installed it and 64-bit Win 7 recognized it and fully utilized it at boot-up. No external driver needed. Win 7 already has the driver. IT WORKS!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Same limitation as any add-on card. The driver isn't loaded until the OS boots so don't plug your mouse or keyboard into this if you'll need to get into BIOS setup or if you need to press F8 to get into Safe Mode.
