SYBA's 5 port controller card lets you add a lot of USB ports in one simple step. This 5 port card will plug right in and give you the ports you need. Just plug it into an available PCI slot and turn your system back on. Your system will do the rest.
The handy internal port lets you attach card readers or other devices. The four external ports let you keep cables for your camera plugged in all the time. You can also plug in a spare flash drive to improve performance with Windows ReadyBoost.

Pros: Quick install, recognized immediately by XP(SP2), fast data transfers to external storage systems.
Cons: Using the internal USB port cuts off an external as I found during my initial tests. I have no use for an internal port with this particular machine, so it doesnt matter to me - just can't give it 5 eggs because of this.
Other Thoughts: Recently put this device on an older machine much in need of 2.0, went very smooth with none of the combatibility issues I was afraid of on an older a Dell mobo. Recieved in 2 days with 3 day shipping, newegg does it again.

Pros: Cheap. Runs most high speed USB2.0 devices well. NEC chipset.
Cons: WD MyBook 2.0 (500gB) runs in USB1.1 mode - and that is Slooooow
Other Thoughts: Great for the price. Kicked the WD to the curb & use Seagates mounted in (cheap) USB adapter housing - 50 times a fast, AND cheaper too.

Corrupted the pci.sys driver
Reviewed By: on 2/1/2010
Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Failed to install, so none as of now.
Cons: Installed on a WinXP Home desktop, booted into WinXP and froze trying to install. Upon rebooting, system would cycle and fail to boot into WinXP. Tried to system recover and found the pci.sys driver is corrupted. Reformatted to WinXP Pro and issue occurred again. Seated in 3 different PCI slots and different hardware configurations and still failed to boot the computer.
Other Thoughts: Could be a faulty card, but the pci.sys issue is unacceptable.
