Pros: none: I had to give this item a one star rating to get this review submitted - my rating now is really "zero" stars

Cons: Can not get the computer to recognize the device. Manual installation results in Windows returning - "Installed but may not work error code 10"

Other Thoughts: I appear to be the only person to not be able to install this device in a Dell laptop running WinXP SP2. I am using Adobe Prem Elements 4 software to download video from a Sony DV camcorder. Like the device, if I can get it to work I will love it.

This device is Plug and Play under Windows XP. If your driver is corrupted, please uninstall the driver from Device Manager and right click to select ‘Scan for hardware changes’ to reinstall the driver. Very Decent Firewire card

Pros: No drivers to install, device was picked up by windows right away and was installed seamlessly. Transferring video from my DV camcorder within minutes of plugging this thing in. Ordered it on a Wednesday and received it the next day. Very fast shipping. Very nice product.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you need a cheap easy way to get video to your windows based laptop this is the most bang for your buck.
