4 out of 5 eggsWorks good. Strange fit on tool-less chassis.

Pros: Works good. Can't complain about the functionality.

Cons: Was difficult to get to go in to a tool-less chassis. I had to match it up against the blanks that were in the case to see why. For some reason the leading end of the blanks had a slight angle to them. I formed the leading edge of this card's frame to match and it went right in.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if all tool-less cases are similar in this way.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great on my Core i7 Hackintosh

Pros: Works great on my Core i7 hackintosh build! No special drivers needed for Mac OS X...works out of box.

Cons: The drivers for this card on Windows 7 work, but they aren't that great.

Other Thoughts: Internal FW port header for front panel has weird pinout. Check to make sure your case header pinout matches if you want to use that.

4 out of 5 eggsMounting bracket

Pros: Simple installation and works great.

Cons: Although it is a small form factor card, it does not come with the small form factor mounting bracket. I had to modify the bracket to fit in the case we have. After that, it fits and works great.

5 out of 5 eggsSYBA FW 1394a PCI card

Pros: Cheap, reliable, PCI interface, header pins for front case ports.

Cons: At this price range, nothing.

Other Thoughts: Not particularly great at anything, it does the job without fuss. Doesn't need drivers in Win 7. As mentioned, the best feature - and the rarest - is the header pins for use with case front ports. This allows use of those ports when a replacement motherboard doesn't have headers for firewire.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: Works in Win 7 no problem. Was nice to have the header on the card to connect front panel connector on case (only one I could find like this, all others had an internal port).

Cons: It is a very tight fit to get the front port internal connector hooked up but it did just fit.

3 out of 5 eggsSubstandard...

Pros: Back port works fine, and I found no others that with an internal header for 1394.

Cons: The +12v pins do not work... There will be no power on the front port with this card.

Other Thoughts: Suppose I could solder some wires to steal power from the back port...
