4 out of 5 eggsNew life into older system

Pros: Cheap, short (half-height card), easy install into small case

Cons: none noted yet

Other Thoughts: Look for the driver disk between the card board, then update from the web site to v1.0.0.118 - no problems!

4 out of 5 eggs4 ports and fast

Pros: All four ports work. Some cards select either inside or external ports, not all. Much faster than the first gen 3.0 card it replaced. Software install went smoothly after a 40 minute hassle getting the mount to align. Overall it was worth the hassle for the improved performance and the heavy duty plug receptacles.

Cons: Fit. The bracket fit was terrible. Given that all PCI-e cards need some bending adjustments, this one was off in all three axis by as much as 3/32". I had to remove the bracket, flatten it in a vise, re-bend the tab (lengthen the mount height), and clip off the tab so the screw would fit. The two tabs that screw to the card were not 90 degrees and made the card not align with vertical.

Other Thoughts: Given that this is an Antec aluminum case and an ASrock mobo, slot alignment is not guaranteed. I do not know what industry standards exist here. All cards I have installed in many computers have required some adjustment. This card was an extreme example.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works
Small
IDE plug so I could connect to my case's front USB ports.

Cons: Doesn't supply power while the computer is off, which is to be expected, I suppose.

Other Thoughts: Due to my motherboard's PCI-E x1 placement, I couldn't plug it in there because of the Northbridge heatsink. I was able to plug it into my second PCI-E x16 port, though. Works perfectly.
It may have sped up my internet speed through my USB wifi adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for your buck

Pros: I needed this card for my case since my motherboard didn't have a usb 3.0 port.
So far I havent had any problems with it not working or disconnecting.
I noticed about a 10-20 mb difference compared to to usb 2.0
it was easy to set up, I just plugged it in and windows automatically installed the drivers for me

Cons: What cons?

Other Thoughts: It is nice having a couple extra usb ports in the back.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks !!! Thanks USB 3.0

Pros: This card worked the minute it was installed in my system (ASUS P5B-Deluxe Wi-Fi), it took one reboot and from there it has work at the rated speeds, although not everything you can plug in this connectors is or could be up to speed, it does work.
I used a high-end SDHC (UHS Speed Class 1 95/50 MB/s) flash card on a USB 2.0 card reader and the writing speeds jump from a burst of 190MB/s slowing down to 44MB/s, moving a 3.1GB video file.

I bought a case to use the front panel headers and they work great too, this card has not slow down or given any issues to my system ever since I start using it back in May of 2013. I'm using Win7 Home Edition 64-bit and didn't have to install drivers either.
The power connector to it was not required for my purposes but I connected a power plug to it anyway.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you don't want to upgrade your motherboard, this is a great solution, but also a case with a USB 3.0 header would help even better, I got a Fractal Design case for $100 and with the front headers it has made my computer get better transfer rates.
Better than upgrading to a whole new system. In my opinion.

3 out of 5 eggsbeware newbies!!!

Pros: if you buy a motherboard w/o a internal USB3 port you'll need a card similar to this one

Cons: hopefully none

Other Thoughts: if you're a newbie you will get some minor surprises...be prepared to buy stuff until your machine shows a desktop...

3 out of 5 eggsFast when it works.

Pros: Upgrade my old mobo to work with my front usb 3.0 plugs.

Cons: The card randomly drops my connection. Was trying to transfer a large amount of storage (2 TB) and it dropped out at least 5 times. (drive disconnects then reconnects)

Other Thoughts: I cannot confirm 100% that its the card or the device since its my only usb 3.0 device atm. It has 0 issues plugged into my usb 2.0 (other than it being slower)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Confirm molex power feed is connected to the card from the power supply for the card to function properly.

Also confirm the card is seated in a PCIe v2.0 to function at advertised 5Gb/s speeds.

We are more than happy to provide all of our customers with a prompt exchange whenever a product becomes defective.

SYBA offers an online RMA form, the user can easily fill out the form and submit it for a quick RMA return and exchange. It is SYBA's policy to answer all customer inquiries within 24 hours (M-F)

5 out of 5 eggsThe Data Master

Pros: -Cheap
-PCI-E and small form factor
-Has front port/secondary connector too
-Faster than USB 2.0

Cons: As others have mentioned, the molex (as well as the secondary connector) are flimsy and scarce with breaking. Mine did not break, but after reading the reviews I was very careful and saw what they were talking about (its locked in by plastic).

Other Thoughts: I am using it in a Core2Duo system with 4 gig of Ram (667mhz clock rate I believe) and the speed starts off at around 260 megabytes a second and then quickly drops to around 90-120. Still way faster than my USB 2.0, but I am not sure if it is the system/chipset or the card itself. Either way, I am even getting better speeds out of this thing than my network (Cat6) so I give it 5 stars.

Also, as others have mentioned, the driver disc is hidden. YOU WILL NEED IT. The drivers I got off the website did not work. It just kept endlessly searching. Once I put the disc in and followed the instructions, I was able to run the card. It was sad that Windows couldn't detect it like everything else I have ever plugged in, but it is a rare looking card.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsdisappointing

Pros: showed up sooner than I expected it. Kudos to Newegg!

Cons: terrible documentation/instructions. Had to go out and buy an extension power cable after finally figuring out what will plug into what.. PS the card worked but only put out about 20mb/s. Turns out the PCI slot it plugs into is a 1.1 and thus my ancient motherboard is incapable of generating even 2.0 much less 3.0 usb speed out of this card. Thanks for forums. In this case, Dell forums were very helpful. This computer is an ancient Dell Dimension 510 running Win7 w/ 8gbs of memory, dual core Athalon processor, etc.

Other Thoughts: Glad I did not buy a more expensive card because these inexpensive items are not worth the trouble to return them. On the bright side, I have two additional USB ports, all of which, though rated 2.0 transfer at a rate of about 20mb/sec
