1 out of 5 eggsDon't

Pros: When it worked it was nice having usb 3.0 speeds. Looks good.

Cons: The hub would work for weeks or months at a time then suddenly lock up. Usually the lock-ups froze the computer.

Other Thoughts: I finally gave up on this piece of hardware. I RMA'd it after 6 months or so and the second unit eventually started having random freezes like the first.

1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: Looks nice, fits nice. Sometimes it works...

Cons: Sometimes it don't. System locks up before completing startup.
Have removed it completely.

Maybe it will work on 8, already ordered.

Windows 7 64bit Pro. Asus P7P55D-E PRO. Crucial 256MB SSDs.
All of the above from NEWEGG.

Other Thoughts: Have 2 USB 3.0 on rear, but need some on front, Have 3.0 flash drives, 3.0 WD 2TB external for frequent backups.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while

Pros: Very convinient, front & back ports. Install went really smooth. My external hard drive isn't very fast, so transfer speed is down.

Cons: first board was DOA, RMAd it, received another one very quickly, with out any hasle.
2nd one worked for a while, now it's freezing up the computer. Most likely the drivers. I reinstalled windows several times, and the computer always works fine, until I install the latest drivers from their website, then it freezes. Can't restore to previous state, can't uninstall drivers, can't do anything until windows is reinstalled.

Other Thoughts: I gave up on using it. Went out and bought a mobo with built in USB. (for about the same price as this kit!) that took care of my problems.

3 out of 5 eggs2 year warranty came in handy

Pros: Fast..very fast. Front panel usb 3.0! Easy upgrade to extend the life of my X58 board. Pain free replacement.

Cons: First one got buggy after 9 months. Hoping my second lasts longer than the first.

Other Thoughts: I started to experience a lot of the problems others did after nine months of usage. Occasionally it would freeze during during large file transfers. Sometimes it would stop responding and require a reboot. All my problems were related to the front hub. I never used the back ports. But man this sucker is fast. Sustained read speeds of 210MB/sec and write speeds of 113MB/sec. That is nowhere near the theoretical max but I still think it's pretty good. My RMA experience with SIIG was painless. I went to their website and filled out a problem report. I had an RMA number in a couple days. I have been testing the new one for a week now without hiccups. Keeping my fingers crossed.

2 out of 5 eggsSIIG USB 3.0 front panel

Pros: USB 3.0 adapter card works well and continues in use.

Cons: Front panel died after about a week. No lights, nothing. Looks like no power to the front panel. I haven't had time to troubleshoot, as the back panel supports my USB 3.0 backup drive just fine, so no need to fix it (yet).

Other Thoughts: Paid top dollar for something that appears to be a chancy piece of kit from the other reviews. Will try something else next time.

2 out of 5 eggsHad to return three times before got working one!

Pros: The third unit I received finally seems to work all the way around.

Cons: I had to return this twice, because I was getting power surges on the first unit, and USB 3 didn't seem to work. I was able to get it replaced through New Egg. However, by the time I got the replacement unit and found out that USB 3 devices only worked on two of the front four ports, the 30 days had passed, so I had to get it replaced directly through SIIG through their warrantly replacement.

Other Thoughts: What happened to quality assurance? I tried a different brand USB 3 adapter before this one, and neither of the first two worked, so I returned that for a refund. Also had to return a blu-ray burner I bought from New Egg, and some memory I got through a different vendor.

1 out of 5 eggsPlain buggy.

Pros: Great idea, nice build quality

Cons: Just doesn't work properly, devices have issues when connected to rear port. connection of the bay to the internal port just makes this worse. I have a nimbie BR ripper burned and it won't work on this card properly - for example drive is detected but media control is not. works fine on USB 2 and other USB 3 reports

Other Thoughts: Don't buy.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked good for a little while

Pros: Its USB 3.0, great access from the front panel.

Cons: This device seems to have some big power issues. This is exactly what I needed so I took a chance as it had 4 eggs. Well now reading the reviews I see I am not the only one with power issues.
I has power surge issues and would sometimes freeze with lights on until a system reboot and eventually just fried. Not sure I even want to waste time getting it RMA'd through the Man.

1 out of 5 eggsBought 2. Neither work.

Pros: They're fast when they work. About half the time.

Cons: Bought 2 of these for home desktops. On mine (EVGA motherboard: P55LE) the card is seen by Win7-64bit about half the time. The other half I get a constant chorus of dings meaning it's installed then uninstalled, seen, then unseen by Win7. Put card in a PCI16 slot, no difference. On my wife's computer (Gigabyte motherboard: GA-E7AUM-DS2H) the computer freezes on entering Win7-32bit about half the time. Both cards have latest bios and driver updates. SIIG support basically said "sorry, there's nothing we can do." No replacements or refunds were offered.
