1 out of 5 eggsNo longer working, less than 2 months later

Pros: It worked for a while

Cons: Flaky connector on the box, had to be wiggled and re-tightened at the box end to eliminate white lines through the picture.
Returned from a week vacation, and the box will not output a picture at all. Windows 19 recognizes that the monitor is there, but there is no image on that screen at all. Have tried changing resolution, that does not help. Monitor works on another machine.

Other Thoughts: My first Startech product, I am now leery of buying any further products from this company.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product works perfect

Pros: This thing is perfect. I ordered a 144hz monitor and was planning on hooking up my laptop to it with HDMI, however once I realized that HDMI doesn't support anything over 60hz the monitor had already shipped out and I didn't want to return in. My laptop also has a mini display port, but the monitor I was getting only had DVI, DSUB, and HDMI connections. So I wanted to find out how I could connect my laptop and be able to use the monitor to its full 144hz potential.

After an internet search I eventually realized that I would need an ACTIVE adapter that would allow me to connect mini display port to DVI Dual link. Its important that the adapter is ACTIVE opposed to PASSIVE. They're a bit pricey but it was my only option. This connector allows me to use my monitor at refresh rates above 60hz. 100, 120,144 etc. This is very important, running at rates over 75hz really make a big noticeable improvement. I know people say that the human eye cant see anything over 30 frames or 60 frames or blah blah whatever. Thats just not the case because you can clearly tell a big difference when you use 100hz+ compared to 60hz. Its great for gaming and even light PC use as things look much smoother even on the desktop.

Cons: NONE!

5 out of 5 eggs144hz eyefinity + crossfire enabled gaming adapter!!

Pros: Allowed me to enable 144hz mode across 3 asus monitors on eyefinity and crossfire with no hiccups or problems at all!

Even the usb and mini display port cable are like a foot and a half long, which doesn't seem like much but when attached to a 5 foot dvi-d dual link cable it makes the world of difference.

Cons: None that I've seen so far. However, I just received these last night and hooked them up. The worked like a charm though!

Other Thoughts: I spent literally hundreds of hours researching which active adapter to buy before selecting this one. I called asus as well as xfx and both pretty much said the same thing, "If it isn't on amd's website then we don't recommend it." Well this active adapter isn't on their website and it works flawlessly with my 3xAsus 144hz gaming monitors and allowed me to enable 144hz mode with ease.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Easy to use. Minimalist design. Allows for Eye-Finity display when running a crossfire setup.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: Plugged it in, graphics card recognized and automatically displayed the third monitor. Couldn't be happier.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Does what it's intended to do. Was able to achieve 120hz on an external monitor with my 660m.

Cons: Sometimes has a "static" look on the screen when you alt-tab out of a game. Must unplug and re-plug to get it to work.

1 out of 5 eggsworked for a while

Pros: solid construction

Cons: price/reliability

Other Thoughts: qwit working after 45 days of use. was useing it for eyefinity and it just stoped displaying. For the price of this adapter [$129] I could have bought 4 cheaper ones. But I thought it would be more reliable. I was wrong
