Rosewill 2 port Parallel (SPP/PS2/EPP/ECP) Universal PCI card Model RC-304

Pros: Works like a charm on older printers with parallel port cables. Once again it is a Rosewill product and it works like a charm.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Whenever I install a new Mobo I install this card so I can use my old HP Laserjet 4L mono printer. Rosewill Rocks...

Pros: Works as expected. No problems experienced with the installation nor drivers setup.

Cons: The label on the disk says first install the drivers, then the PCI card, the manual on the same disk says install the PCI card first, then the drivers. Go figure.

Other Thoughts: It creates LPT2 and LPT3 devices in Windows. Works with Linux without any installations.

Pros: Installed Rosewill drivers in 32 bit Windows 7. Both ports immediately functional in Command Window. (Needed for old DOS application that uses 3 printers)

Other Thoughts: Used Cables to Go Newegg part number N82E16812196220 to connect onboard paralell port of ASRock 970 Extreme 3 motherboard for the 3rd printer.

my card is a RC-304 yet the install has no 304 only a 304-E. my problem? who knows. cant find the install for a RC-304.

Cons: OLD non supported product/ nm9815 chip. moschip/netmos links will error out 404. go to moschip, due to a restructuring, new website there is NO consumer access to anything unless you wish to read about them bragging about CEO's etc. no matter where you look around there is NO real support for this chipset or any real answers as to why it can be sold as being EPP but wont work. ive tried it in 4 computers spend hours changing resources, bios settings. it just has NO real EPP function. the chipset it old and useless on this card altho other manufactures use this chipset and DO GET EPP. its clearly able to do it somehow but we need the correct and current drivers to do so. the install says and shows it will be listed in device manager as two NetMos PCI ECP Parallel Ports yet all you will find are 2 pci parallel ports NO ECP OR EPP. so even the install manual is wrong. win7 installs get replys, non EPP gets nothing? OEM YOU mis listed this they should make good!. corp usa at its best!

Other Thoughts: i needed this card this weekend i needed it to work!. the one i wanted was not in stock. it wasnt a cost issue it was availability, advertising, product listing why i chose this card. i needed EPP, and i have had great sucess with both newegg and other rosewill products!. not this time. read the documentation it clearly lists this as EPP/ECP. i paid extra for rush processing, shipping to ensure i had it this weekend. read the install, it shows clearly what you should in device manager. two netmos ECP/EPP ports. yet no matter how i install it, uninstall, update drivers all i get is two PCI parallel ports, not even listed as ECP OR EPP. testing pins shows and proves its not EPP. check the install inf files, driver files, there are Lpt and ecp driver files and installs NONE for EPP. the installation can be opened up to show install strings,shows lpt1 and ECP mode but no EPP install, wont do any good to go to MOSCHIPS website as the PDF says for current driver as MOSCHIP/netmos is gone

Pros: Plugged it in and let Vista search for the drivers. Did not work. Went to Rosewell site and downloaded drivers for Vista 64. Restarted and got message stating that drivers were being loaded, that went on for about 5 minutes. Got message that drivers loaded, Turned on my HP Laserjet 5P, the system loaded those drivers and my baby works again.
I love this card. Highly recommend.

Other Thoughts: Now using a HP Laserjet 5P on my Dell XPS 410. Tried all types of cables to connect the parrellel port to usb, None worked. This card allowed me to use a great old printer again. One 5P cartridge prints 64,000 pages, enough for the rest of my life. NO MORE EXPENSIVE INK JET CARTRIGES. Thanks Rosewill, excellent product.

Pros: The card works great.

Cons: I had difficulty getting the drivers installed. Once recognized, the port worked fine.

Pros: Included cable and bracket for second parallel connection. Nice, I needed it and didn't expect it. Easy driver installation for both versions of Xp.

Other Thoughts: Wish mobo manufacturers would leave the parallel interface pins on their newest boards. Lots of older HP laser printers out there that only connect with parallel.

Pros: Worked with Windows 7 x64, with drivers downloaded automatically! I'm using this to drive an LCD front display on an HTPC and was concerned about the EPP/ECP/SPP/etc "automatic" negotiation but it works like a champ.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Would work if it was compatible.

Cons: Product states compatible with Win7 on this site, but is not. Packaging even says that it isn't.

Click on the download tab and you'll find the drivers for Windows 7. Also, try the card in another PCI slot to see if it does the same thing.
